They really did! I've been meaning to re-watch Von Trapp Family for a while now!

Wow, so many childhood memories.
I had a huge crush on Jo (from Little Women). |

Wow! World Masterpiece Theater titles are ACTUALLY being given the attention they need! Wow! Anne of Green Gables and A Little Princess included! Yay! Now if only someone would LICENSE them for the American market for the love of pie!

It's cruel and unusual punishment that we don't have these titles subbed.

Actually, some fansub groups have subbed some of the shows. Anne of Green Gables is fully subbed and C1Anime just released episodes 31 and 32 of Perrine Story. They even released the first 2 episodes of A Little Princess Sara long ago, though I have no idea why no episodes after that have been subbed. |

With few exceptions, not enough Americans watch old WMT shows, even for fansubbers to bother with them. They're quite popular in Latin America and parts of Europe, however.

Oh my gosh this is amazing. But I guess no Heidi since it says Fuji TV for Production and not Nippon...

You can't throw a rock at a crowd of middle-aged people in Latin America without hitting someone who has watched at least one of these shows. I've always believed it paved the way for shows like Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball, heck, anime in general in Latin America, since WMT handled topics not usually seen in other cartoons (i.e. death) and had overall plots. Not sure how this didn't happen in the US. |

I'm guessing the U.S. animation industry reduces the need to import anime for kids on U.S. TV. Just not enough timeslots to go around. We got a lot of the WMT shows as well on TV. |

Nippon Animation... I love you!
I never got to finish Romeo's Blue Skies or Lassie (they were some favorites of mine,) now hopefully we get some more episodes slowly but surely. : D |

I saw Maya the Bee in the banner. But, it wasn't on the list. Hmm...
I was referring to legal subs. |

Maya the Bee is not on the list of free full episodes, but Nippon Animation is streaming a 12-minute clip. |

"This video contains content from NipponAnimation, who has decided to block it in your country."
Which countries outside Japan can watch the videos? I've seen most titles anyway but this is ridiculous. |

Sad really, if there was a way to get the ball rolling, it isn't too late for these studios to allow for subtitle submissions they could approve to use and add to these videos if need be, still, at least we got something.
Heidi was produced by Zuiyo Enterprises (what Nippon Animation came out of), but isn't owned by Nippon Animation at all from my knowledge.
You guys were lucky.
We only wonder... ![]()
Would be interesting to see if they pretty much plugged up the entire world except Japan with this. I got kinda hot 'n bothered over seeing A Dog of Flanders right about now. That's no way to lock us out for not even ever getting this at all (much like me and my life, I hate being late to the party and always getting nothing but rejection at every corner). |
