Yay!! I've been reading Shiawase Kissa 3-chome online and I really love it, so it's great to see it's been licensed (Happy Cafe)! I will buy this title (assuming the official translation gives me the same good feeling as the scanlation). I often have a love/hate relationship with manga scans: Love it when they keep the names the same as the original; love that the translation is USUALLY closer to the Japanese; love that the characters are *generally* not as zany as they are in the official editions. On the other hand, the grammar and spelling are too often ridiculous and/or incomprehensible.

I really like Uru so I hope they don't make her clueless and shallow. I loved Beauty is the Beast when I read it online but did not enjoy the official translation very much. I thought they made Eimi a rather silly airhead which was not the impression I got from the scans at all. When I read it online, it was easy to see her personality and why others are attracted to her. In the official she was just clueless. I point this out because I see the potential for this happening in Happy Cafe.

Ah, well. I only read scans for manga that have yet to be released in the U.S. I can read Japanese, but sometimes it's too much work; I'd rather read in English and enjoy it quicker! Wink

Nice to see more manga titles coming out at a time when so many titles are disappearing or taking so long between volumes!

Oh wow. I didn't know that Heart no Kuni no Alice had been licensed. I missed that announcement somewhere along the line. I'll be picking that one up when it's published.

I am amused beyond ... well. just really amused that they picked up the Heart no Kuni no Alice (Alice in the land of hearts) manga, seeing as it's a manga based off an Otome game. Not so amused that they probably picked it up because of the upcoming Burton film which it bears no resemblance too.

I wonder if they're trying to avoid mentioning that it's based off an Otome game. Ah well, if it sells well maybe someone will consider releasing the game here. I can dream.
