I just realized the irony of this guy being serialized in a magazine called good! Afternoon.

So between Erotics F, Evening and Good Afternoon, the dude's going to have three ongoing serials. Granted, Erotics F and Good Afternoon don't come out that often so they're not huge commitments, but still, one assumes he's gonna be a pretty busy guy.

I just checked out bokurano and frankly, I was a little bit bored of it by the 3 chapter or so...

Then I kept reading and 'wow', this is probably one of the best manga I have 'ever' read.

It's right up there with Chrono Crusade, Alien Nine, World Embryo, all that good, niche, off the beaten path kind of stuff.

Highly recommend checking it out if you can.

Avoid checking the series synopsis anywhere too. You'll only spoil the big twist of it all.

How do they come up with these names? Bokurano sounds like a series supported by an environmental group because the name translates as "Our Precious Planet".

Have you even read the Manga or watched the Anime?

Well, each and every pilot is fighting to save the Earth and everyone on it. I mean that literally of course; if even one pilot loses, the planet along with the human race is going bye bye. (Our entire universe will also die, but that's beyond the scope of your question.)

So I ask you, don't YOU think the planet is kinda precious for the human race's continuing survival? Even those who do not believe in human-caused climate change realise that we still need to breathe and drink and eat, and if the planet disappeared those things would be made rather more difficult.

as far as i know the name of the manga "Bokurano" should mean only something like "Ours". its meaning is explained in one of the chapters close to the end.

yes, bokurano only means "ours" ..... and environmental stuff isn't really an issue, unless you count the "erasing the earth" as such xD It's much more about the characters and their lives than about protecting nature ^^;;
