Yellow was actually published by the DMP yaoi imprint and not 801. It preceded 801 Media's debut.

That said, I'm excited to see this. The first story was one of the better yaoi stories from DMP in that period, and I love Makoto Tateno's drawing style. Even if all the men look alike, at least she picked a pretty template. ;)

The two omnibus editions (each containing two volumes of the series) were actually printed in Japan. I own both of them. Meaning, this "Yellow 2" thing is something in addition to that. The article is a little unclear about it. They are publishing BOTH the omnibus (republished in Japan in 2007 by Enterbrain) and these new, mobile phone exclusive, chapters. And hopefully will have copies available by YaoiCon? Wish I could be there!

Ooh, a sequel to Yellow? While Makoto Tateno's style isn't one of my favorites, I do have very fond memories of that series, which I got "back in the day" Laughing when I could say I owned almost every English BL manga released (as opposed to now, when I can spend the better part of an hour looking through my Amazon Recommendations).

Awesome, I had no idea Yellow had a sequel. Even if the plot was a bit rediculous at times, all in all, I still absolutely adored Yellow. Taki and Goh had great chemistry and I honestly believed that they loved each other the whole way through- which isn't actually something I can say about a lot of romance stories, yaoi or otherwise. It was definitely a story I was really sad to see end, and one of the few that was well worth reading several times over afterwards, so I have to say, I'm psyched for a sequel.

I won't be able to go to yaoi-con, so I hope they release it not too long afterwards for everyone else..

I didn't know Yellow had a sequal either. I'm really excited. Laughing
I am going to Yaoi-con this year and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Yellow is one of my favorite Tateno stories. I bought Yellow back when it first came out, it was one of the first stories to get me hooked on yaoi.
I now have EVERY yaoi printed in english (and about 30 in japanese)with the exception of about 4 new titles. It's sad really, I have book shelves everywhere. Shocked So expensive. I can't help it, yaoi is my crack.

801 Media hopes to launch the sequel's 60-page episode this October, just in time for a limited number of printed copies to be available at Yaoi-Con 2009.

According to the June Manga forums, the release that they are hoping is available for YaoiCon is not the Yellow 2 first chapter, but the first omnibus volume.
