So from what I read, it seems that maybe, MAYBE, Clannad will get a dub. That would indeed make me happy.
Even though I dont care for dubs to much. The fact that Air and Kanon did and Clannad did not just does not seem fair . Considering I personally think Clannad is the best of the three.

Well, regardless about a Clannad dub or not, I'm happy that ADV is hanging in there. Nice to know they're doing something and not just sitting idle while twiddling their thumbs.
Although I am hoping for a Utena rescue.

As an anime fan who prefers English dubs as his language preference, I would very much like to see that maybe become a yes. The possibility of 6 new licenses peaks my interests and indicates that perhaps ADV isn't as strapped for cash as I'd been led to believe.
I really want to be able to eat crow for every bad opinion I've had about their future. While I prefer English dubs vocally, there is no doubt that ADV had some of the best signs and background subbing around. They did some truly wonderful work with Kanon and AIR and a personal favorite Diamond Daydreams in terms of sheer warmth of emotions.
I would really like to be able to change my currently negative stance on them. I hope for English dubs.

Personally I wouldn't complain about more sub-only releases. Granted I've been watching more dubs lately, but I still consume the vast majority of my anime in subs and I usually re-watch shows in the language originally viewed. As for Blue-ray releases, I pray that Elfen Lied gets one. I think that show would look absolutely amazing in HD (heck, I think it looks stunning in SD). And if they put out a decently affordable blue-ray of NGE I might shell out the money...especially if they manage to get NGE:EoE and be so kind as to package that with the series.

6 new titles soon? Ohhh, can't wait to hear about that. I always love to know that more titles are getting stateside releases. Although I really don't care about about the dub stuff....

We shall see what happens from now till then on those new titles he is talking about. Don't be surprised if they don't come true, I won't be. ADV is trying to get out of a hole in the ground right now and it will take more time on doing so in my opinion. So don't bring your hopes up to high here guys like most have done already on here and the other anime forum.

Over the last several weeks I've been really wanting to watch this, but shelling out around 90 dollars per saga, I believe there's 3, for used copies on Amazon is very unappealing. I was actually going to download it soon, but if it gets rescued in the next few months, I'll just wait a while longer for it.

Good to hear they are hanging in there. I also hope the recent sub only shows get a dub, that really gets my hopes up as well. As far as Blu-ray I wish they would start sooner rather than later. The manga news sucks, but it something we all knew anyway.
The fact they are looking at six CPM titles is good news. CPM had a lot of junk, but they also had a lot of good stuff too. I hope two of them are Lodoss and Utena.

Nice to see continual questions about the rest of Saint Seiya, and interesting focus on the dub itself and not just the episodes themselves... Maybe Cookie Jar Entertainment, the company who bought DiC and the Saint Seiya license with it, is more willing to help in bringing the rest over than DiC was.

Sounds good ADV! Hopefully Princess Resurrection will get a dub, cause that would be pretty cool. Concerning the Geneon situation, wonder if anyone will pick up Trigun? Love to see that released cheaper than how it was before. Also, hopefully they'll get back into the manga market, but if not I hope somehow the Gunslinger series will be released (I really want to read more!)

The sales have been good enough that ADV is contemplating dubbing these shows, although Greenfield noted he “cannot confirm that because it's not my call.” The company's Anime Network branch, in particular, is pushing for these series to be dubbed. |
Well now, this is funny. Looks like all the hate has been directed towards the wrong people this whole time . In fact, it sounds like ADV wasn't too fond of the sub-only release in the first place.

Very good news to hear that ADV is doing well. However, I am still surprized ADV actually licensed several series at once. But I would really like to see ADV bring back Monster Rancher. I wasn't able to watch the entire series, much less see the final episode so this would be great if ADV would do that.
Anyway, its great to see ADV still active and licensing neat shows.

I dunno, they never dubbed Season 3 (I mean, Season 2 was sorta conclusive at the end, but lord, was it depressing, and I wonder if they would be able to reunite all the main dub cast. I mean, if they only released Seasons 1-2 on DVD, I would still buy them, but I'd like to be able to see the full show finally.

Remember when people said the company was dead?
Quote: | And the answer to that question was yes, but the names of those titles would have to wait: due to the annual Golden Week shutdown in Japan, plans with the Japanese licensors couldn't be solidified in time for an announcement at the convention. |
Good luck.
Quote: | On the topic of re-releasing some of ADV's older, out-of-print titles, Greenfield noted that the contract for every VHS-era title has to be renegotiated for a DVD release, which can be a difficult process given the rights to some titles have changed hands several times in the intervening years. |
I just want Hanappe Bazooka, but I can see how that might be a problem.

I still hope it gets rescued. *sigh* I wonder if Kodansha won't release it directly...?

Actually, the according to the article they are looking to release six new series, which will be amazing to see happen -- though I still need to see to believe.
Great to hear that Clannad and Princess Res may get dubs, especially for those who are dub-only. I'd like bilingual discs as well, even if it does make me hesitant about buying part two of Clannad sub-only (sorry ADV).
Lots of big things promised here; I hope it's more than just spin.
