Great news. Hidamari Sketch is sorta my "feel good" show/manga and I wouldn't care if they milked it for 10 seasons. Something about it just stays fresh and relaxing to me.
Would really love to see the anime licensed.

Good news is good. I'm not going to say no to more Yuno, Miya, Hiro, and Sae.

Actually, the manga is licensed. Yesterday I was at Borders and saw a copy of the first volume.
But to be honest, I found Sketchbook to be more enjoyable than Hidamari Sketch. The characters acted like average people would and the cast was not completely sterotypical. Also almost all of the comedic moments made me laugh, especially the episode with the lobster.
But this series must be making tons of cash if they are making a special. Or at least made enough to warrent a special.

Hehe, it was the other way around for me, although I liked both series...HS has that Shinbo popart touch, together with a slice of life fluffiness that makes you wanting to hug the screen or in my case, my...rather appalled girlfriend, whom I obliged to watch it with me (much to her despair ~ she hates the genre)..
More HS = very good news...^^

This is definitely good news! And, like what has already been said, who can say no to more Yuno, Miyako, Sae, and Hiro? Hidamari Sketch definitely has something over me with its artistic presentation (SHAFT for the win) and its coziness. I second a call for 10 seasons of this stuff.

Sketchbook ~ full colours?
Also good stuff.
I think hidamari wins it for me simply through constant squishiness (err? Those who've seen it know what I mean...)
