He's starting to look like L'il Leisure Suit Larry, but I'm curious what Peacekeeper can do.

I don't remember Peacemaker. Why not have Pluto as the villian instead? He's by far the most recognizable Astro Boy antagonist.

Wasn't Pluto the one who sacrificed himself? |

I don't remember Peacekeeper in the least, I've read half the manga and seen the 1980 and 2003 series.
Seriously, this is looking incredibly iffy to me more and more now. While I don't think it's half as bad an idea as casting Keanu Reeves as Spike, I have to question the sudden Hollywood rush of making anime-based movies. And not even their own anime inspired series like Avatar: The Last Airbender did, which is fine because it took the concept but not an existing series. And what was with those billboards on the left hand side of that one slide? Eh, well it wouldn't be fair to pass judgement now, but it's not like I'm super excited for it either anymore. |

I don't see what's the big deal. Astro vs. Super Powerful Evil Robot. This is a concept kids can grasp. Peacemaker looks great. Astro looks great. Metro City looks good from that one shot.
I'm looking forward to this. |

I want to live in a world where billboards with smiling cupcakes are common. ![]() |

Looking at the first image, you can just about see Tezuka's style in Astro's face. I suppose it goes without saying that the visual style in general changes quite a bit when things are all in 3D. I personally don't know about those rounded signs in Metro City, but one assumes those sort of vivid designs make it more appealing to younger audiences.

I was more underwhelmed than overwhelmed about this. There is something about CGi that just doesn't appeal to me. It's still too rubbery to me, and Peacemaker looks like Tetsujin 28's older brother. Still the chillins will love it, and who knows? They might even seek out the manga, and get re-runs of the anime.

I'm not impressed by the stills, either, but the actual clip looks smooth.

They're waiting for Naoki Urasawa to finish Pluto? I'm more familiar with Atlus and the Blue Knight than Peacekeeper, but I'll wait and see how this turns out. |
