That's cool. I wonder if there's a chance of a U.S. adaptation now

Because its so good.
I dont watch the live actions though. I only read the manga and I liked it. Good stuff.

I hope someone picks this version up... I love Hana Yori Dango - one of my all time favorite stories. Based on the drawing from the artist of the cast it looks like they did REALLY good with picking the cast out. Makes me want to definitely see the Korean version.

That's not very good ratings. For such an expensive show which is planned for 24 episodes it needs to be getting in the 20% range or better. I hope ratings improve so they can recoup their expenses. Of course I will watch it no matter what. I have read the manga, seen the anime and watched every live action version Japanese and Tawianese. I could hardly miss this.
As far as a US adaptation I dont think the story translates well in the US. America has many flaws but we are not as class and status conscious as Asian societies so some of the conflicts just dont work. They'd need to make a lot of changes. Maybe make Domyioji a famous celebrity. Or tone the whole story down. Whatever I just dont think it would work.

I guess I can understand why its ratings seem so low. (note: I'm not claiming to know anything about what is considered good or not in the Japanese TV ratings, this just seems quite small.) It's a pretty generic shojo plot, which was more interesting in the time it was first released. I'm interested in this adaptation because I enjoy the origional.

If the US adaptation has an all-American cast and Western names, would anybody complain?
