I'm surprised at the interest, considering that any Hollywood studio would have to change the name, so people don't confuse it with that 80s Stallone flick. Plus, as Helen McCarthy noted, it has a similar premise to Total Recall, thus further making it a hard sell in its own right. Plus, you gotta wonder if it would have a place here, given the forthcoming Flash Gordon remake...

Those are all superficial though. Considering that the movie version doesn't even reference the whole repressed identity beginning, and the tv show didn't pass the first episode or so, it wouldn't even have to be referenced in the film. It'd be a terrible Hollywood movie though. The market isn't there, I don't think the audience could appreciate enough to compensate for the absurd amount of money they put into films these days.
And there'd be lots of CG. Aside from Crystal Boy and psychogun lasers, it should be practical special effects, and the art of good production values have seemed to disappeared in Hollywood it seems. |

Okay, for Ideas, first it just wouldn't be just "Cobra" the movie can totally get away with "Space raider Cobra" or " Cobra the galactic adventurer" or something like that.
Another note is that Hollywood has the perfect candidate, the only man that can play COBRA faithfully is TITO ORTIZ, just put a blond wig and a psychogun, and the rest of the badassness will play itself http://www.titoortiz.com/album/?level=picture&id=123 that's what I think

 Though knowing Hollywood, we'd probably get stuck with Owen Wilson. *sigh*
