Awesome! xD
I never purchased a bootleg before, and NEVER will. Subtitles are just HORRID on some of them.

Such truth Laughing

I only bought a bootleg once, a combination of desperation to see Hikaru no Go, the belief it wouldn't be liscensed, and the fact that I don't have enough computer 'oomph' for torrenting. (It was quickly replaced with a legit version when it became available.) The subtitles weren't too bad- but every time the conversation stopped, a random email related to the bootleggers came up.

The Yugioh bootlegs my friend had, tho'- hoo boy... Shocked Laughing

Hey, even us rabid fansub consumers still disapprove of bootlegs. They're the absolute worst.

I accidentally only once bought a boot leg... it was Sailor Moon DVDs and since it was the first two seasons (which were subtitled by ADV) they were fine subtitle wise...

This was the first Nina comic to actually make me laugh out loud. Granted, most of the previous strips were indeed quite funny, but they don't hold a candle to this week's. Laughing

Keep up the good work, Robin!

In the bottom panel row Nina's speech has been affected by the poor quality of the subtitles. Notice how her speech from the first pannel of the row is delayed to the third panel, and the spelling/grammar is atrocious. That's how bad real bootlegs are. Smile

Sadly a story I can relate to: order seemingly legit copy from seemingly legit seller, email seller, and then email credit card company when seller decides not to reply. Stupid long out-of-print titles (did eventually get a clean one.)

Now that I know the dangers of such a thing, no more waiting until I get a big enough shredder to take out CD/DVDs!

After finally getting to sit down and read all the strips, I have to say that this is some of the best stuff I have ever read!

I love it!

Well, damn, if you've accidentally bought a bootleg the least you can do is watch it. Except for Nina, she can't separate the Engrish from normal speak xD

The first time I accidentally bought some bootleg was a two-disc DVD set of 3x3 Eyes. I watched it and LOL'd my way through the subtitles. It is currently with a friend from middle school who borrowed it, moved out of state, and never returned them. The second time was a complete box set of Hand Maid May. The fact that the DVDs were secured in the box by a bundle of rubber bands was clue number one something was Not Right.

I STILL WANT MY 3X3 EYES DVDS BACK, THOUGH D:
