I fell off the manga way back around volume 5, but perusing the review of the first two episodes, I didn't think I'd be hit with multiple spoilers for way later in the series. I'll be dropping both, but maybe I'll pick the manga up again sometime. :/

I'm (anime only) enjoying the show, and unlike many such cases I don't feel like the seams where cuts were made for this adaptation are particularly evident or hindering- I feel like I still understand everything that's going on....well, as much as I'm supposed to, anyway.
I'm concerned about how this ends though. I guess we'll see.

Well, maybe not overnight, but I've had to remove the right lens from my glasses since the vision in that eye has improved for no discernible reason to nearly 20/20. Still need the near correction for reading though. But my eyes have been weird for years.
The watermelon appearances in this are killing me. I need to get to the grocery...

The show makes me want to find the best Cantonese cuisine in my area, because holy cow does lemon chicken sound really good right now.

Was hoping for more of a focus on Kowloon, since the character work in a rental agency, I figured a lot of story would focus on newcomer to the city and in the process of finding them an apartment you'd see interesting vignette of the city.
I find the love story aspect also a lot more entertaining when its away from the weird memory angle, could we get a couple of prequel episode where its just the original meeting with Kujirai B? The character/setting are interesting enough on stand on their own.
I dunno if its due to the rushed pace, but the meeting with Yaomay was really strange, "Hey I just met you, but let me share my bizarre problem for no reason", she didn't even get her to stop the sound, poor neighbor.

I'm really enjoying myself so far, but it sounds like that wouldn't have been the case if I'd read the manga. I'm typically unable to watch an anime without comparing it to the manga, and when too much stuff gets cut, that bothers me. I wish it didn't, but it usually does. Heck, that's what ruined Horimiya for me.
It's a shame that we don't see more anime with flexible episode counts. The reviewer mentioned that 26 episodes might have been too many, but if we're speed running and cutting stuff out to fit 13 episodes, I can't help but wonder if the 16 - 20 episode range might have been a better fit. Or maybe a few longer episodes?
We're only 2 episodes in, and I think everything is going well so far, so I probably shouldn't worry, but now I kinda am. lol

I watched episode 1 and thought it was decent enough, though wasn't really into the actual romance part of things. Ending did motivate me to want to check out more but not really hooked yet.

Adult romance, sexy and likeable female protagonist, incredible atmosphere, Aoi Koga as a busty blonde, sci-fi mystery, what more could you want?

I just watched the first episode last night on CR, I wish I could watch the 2nd episode but unfortunately I don't have CR Premium and I'm on the budget. It kind of suck that I'm starting to like the anime.

I've read almost all of the manga volumes of this that have been published in English, and I think you're right on the money. I agree with the reviewer that this manga series is awesome, but our opinions diverge on the pacing - I actually think the slow pace is one of the most masterfully done elements of the story and is kind of necessary in a mystery box series that benefits from having very slow drips of information, a la Severance. I also think the character development suffers from speeding up the pace, because a lot of what has been cut from the anime have been very charming scenes that help you learn more about the characters, like Kudo's visit to a porno movie theater (okay, I guess I'm not that surprised that they cut that part out). I hope at least that the anime will lead more people to the manga.

Jesus christ that kiss was gross. The noise? Absolutely disgusting.
Worst kiss I've ever seen, I screamed. I'm sure that was the point so good job but I feel like I'm entitled to some kind of compensation for the mental damage I sustained.
Kujirai didn't actually seem that disgusted, more shocked and confused at the fact it was apple flavored, something she says as were shown a lipstick called Eden as the snake guy leaves. Not sure if this is just some bible-spice or if Hebinuma is like, literally Satan.
I'm a bit put off by the bad guy being a man wearing lipstick and having sex with men. I like this show so far and it'd be a bummer if it plays into the sterotype of the only lgbtq characters being villains.
One problem I have with the show is I feel like Kujirai isn't asking the most obvious questions. I liked the scene were she told Kudo her feelings are her own, I just wish it came after she asked some more important things like "What happened to Kujirai B?", "Why am I her but not?" "What the hell is going on?"
Very minor correction- Gwen didn't remove Hebinumas robe, he walked up to the window and got naked for all of town to see on his own

A couple things where I'm not sure if I just missed something, or if the reviewer is making a leap in logic.
First, why are there two Gwens? Why do barman Gwen and masked Gwen have to be two different people? My understanding is that he's been spying on Kujirai A from the start as the barman, but had to go into hiding for some reason so now he's wearing a mask when he's out and about. He definitely seems to be the same person that Kudo knows and that Kujirai A met previously.
Second, why would Kujirai A collapsing mean some kind of foul play on Hebinuma's part? It felt like that happened far enough after her encounter with Hebinuma that the two things would be unrelated.
One thing that did come to my attention is that during the Kujirai B flashback we didn't see the sky octahedron. I didn't go back to see if that's the case with all the Kujirai B flashbacks, so I'm not sure if that's significant or not.

Re. Review. I dont think the full body snake tattoo was meant to indicate gang affiliation, I think he's meant to represent the serpent in the garden of Eden offering the forbidden fruit which brings knowledge but also shatters her place in paradise.

Not necessarily Paradise. Hebinuma warned Gwen not to eat anything while in Kowloon investigating Kujirai-A. That’s a common warning for travellers in Fairyland (or Hades).
