Confirmed to be solo key animated and storyboarded by Keisuke Mori. Maya Asakura, who helped with directing the short, confirmed it on Twitter. Dunno about who else is involved at this time, including the main director. (Tho Megumi Ishitani wouldn’t be a bad guess) https://twitter.com/egagaga46/status/1895885348695392753

Edit: Nagisa Nishida confirmed as Art Director. Nishida, Asakura, and Mori are all frequent collaborators of Ishitani, so it’s looking more likely she directed, though again that’s not confirmed yet. https://twitter.com/i/status/1895888431588446415/

Edit again: Asakura posted more staff here https://twitter.com/egagaga46/status/1895907220635910555?s=46

Another edit: Ishitani talked about the short on her twitter but made no mention of directing it, so it seems it's directed by Asakura

That was honestly better than I was expecting. One Piece has come so far in North America.

I never thought it was possible. An anime with Luffy in a Laker's jersey playing basketball. I never thought it would happen. It would be like Sailor Moon appearing in an American commercial. I'm just amazed at this. It's just too unbelievable to even imagine.

I honestly thought after the fiasco that was the 4kids, One PIece was finished in the west (except among anime fans). I didn't expect it get big enough to not have appear in the NBA as well as a successful live action series.

Well, thanks for the doll commercial, enurtsol. But,what I meant was that the anime version to appear in an American commercial. I don't think dolls or action figures count.
