Sure, why not. Make it better than the way coolmic works and I'll probably subscribe

smart move would be to do both. There's still a lot of business on twitter, unforunately. But twitter literally shadowbans any kind of porn so seems pointless to me. Bluesky at least allows porn as long as you apply the proper labels

I have a suspicion that this is primarily going to be a platform to market their adult titles. The "mainstream" stuff is more of a cover, so it's not explicitly the TV ver. and the uncensored ver.

This is really, really cool news!
If this becomes like an English version of AnimeFesta, which is a really popular streaming site in Japan with both regular and mature anime titles, I think it could be a really great addition to the streaming landscape here.

Of course, a lot still remains to be seen for how it shapes up, but I'm hopeful.
I remember a while back I sent a strongly-worded their way e-mail about how unintuitive Coolmic is as a platform for anime in particular, and how I encouraged them to take a new approach for getting their anime titles out there.
I really hope this platform works out well.

As long as pricing is fair and the variety of titles they get (both from their own library and beyond) is solid, I'll likely subscribe.

How popular is AnimeFesta? Is it like popular among the anime niche or kinda mainstream?

And how are they going to pay for it? Advertising it this way seems like a good method to get blacklisted by the major credit cards and their hyper-christian owners.

Expect EVERYTHING that Ascendent Animation has the license for to stream there, and that includes their dubs.

I don't entirely know the scope of its reach for sure, but I'd say it's a platform catered towards a niche of core anime fans.
There are a lot of anime streaming services in Japan, so there's plenty of options, but from what I understand, AnimeFesta's big draw is its large catalog of titles from the past few decades. (Many of which are ecchi titles not streaming in many other places.)
Though it does stream a handful of current titles every season too (Looking at their front page, I see Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister, Nina the Starry Bride, and TsumaSho, among others.) On top of being the go-to place for streaming of WWWave's stuff and uncensored versions of other mature anime whenever they come along each season.

This is why I feel like from the way OceanVeil is being described, it might be aiming for a similar kind of approach, but for the English-speaking audience. A streaming site with a solid back-catalog catered towards fans of ecchi & older anime, with a handful of current season shows lined up to keep things fresh.

This is nice and all, I just fear it will run into the same wall with payment processors as other storefronts in this sector, eventually. If even Denpasoft had to remove a whole slate of titles only a couple of months ago, I don't really see bright skies in the future for this venture. Hope I'm wrong...

I do hope among the all ages titles we can get some unlicensed shoujo stuff like much of the Pretty Series.
