So, are all the manga translated into English? Are they targeting foreigners living in Japan, or does Kodansha make it available simply because the app is owned by a Japanese company? After all, we know the locals are unlikely to use the app since it's in English, and they already have alternatives to read the original Japanese manga.

I decided to dig deeper into the topic, and it appears that Kodansha have positioned the Japanese K MANGA service as an educational tool for learning English (article in Japanese). Additionally, they are currently running a launch promotion with DMM English Conversation (DMM英会話, an online English tutorial service).
