That focus (HP) stuff was handled with furigana in the Japanese. I was wondering how they'd handle that in English.

With this (and Goblin Slayer) monster noises are all written out in English letters even in the Japanese editions; and this includes all Garbage's dog noises. At some point they switched from "Arf" to "Alf"...

I'd also say Garbage is definitely not a tank. She's pure DPS and goes flying if she takes a hit at all.

I've been working my way through this author's works this year, and while GS novels have a lot more to them than the series' reputation suggests, I thought both Blade and Bastard and Moscow 2160 were considerably more successful, really showing how much he's grown as a writer.

I read nearly all of the early Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms novels (pretty much everything released from the late '80s through late '90s) and still have Dragonlance artwork on my dining room wall to this day, so if this novel evokes that feel then I'll probably need to check it out eventually.

I was really interested in this. Thank you for doing a review.
