2024 is truly going to be the Year of the Elf. Frieren, Dungeon Meshi, now Elf-san.
Love how her belly jiggles on the official site too. |

From what I've read from various comments, the mangaka had some kind of spat with ComicGum, probably over content, released the 8th and final volume at Akita Shoten and ending the original series...
...And more or less right after started the 'sequel' series which is a direct continuation with publisher Akita and online platform LINE Manga. |

I have not read this manga…however, I would not call that elf plus-sized in any sense if she looks like that in the manga. Also not really sure why a massage therapist would be the one to help her lose weight. The whole thing seems like a bad joke that somehow works for some people. I won’t bother with this one when the anime premieres.

I've been eyeing this series for a while, though I haven't actually read the manga.
I'll look forward to checking out the anime! Always neat to see more shows featuring some so-called "thicc" anime girls, lol. |

It's a manga hovering around a fetish and the artist is very popular among that crowd.
Obesity in Japan is very different compared to America. |

It's always shocking to me that people don't instantly get this is an open fetish thing. She's not gonna lose any weight, lol. |

Blame whoever went for the english title. The original japanese title never mentions "plus size" |

It's basically Monster Musume, except the monster girls are varying degrees of overweight. Lots of fanservice, mostly jokes with very little drama of any kind. You'll know from the outset whether it's something you wanna watch or not because the series is very upfront about what it is. |

Thank you for this reminder. I forget to think about things from the perspective of Japan sometimes. |

I’m not always the brightest crayon in the box. Saying that, I’m still completely lost about how a massage therapist is an open fetish thing. Is he going to have her eat more junk food? Or is he going to have sex with her? Perhaps this plane has flown over my head and ventured into space. |

He is going to give her a massage and his hands are going to press into her squishy flab :) Well, actually I think in the manga he does try and give her health tips and there's some sort of association between "massage therapist" and "nutritionist". But what I meant was just, "this sounds like it's not going to help her lose weight" -> "yeah, it's not" lol. |

And once again, otaku Japan proves it's 50 years behind the cultural times of the West. A show about a female losing weight? Come on. Being an anime/manga fan can be really irritating at times...

It's a manga by an author who admits he has a fat fetish who also makes fat fetish hentai. She isn't losing weight. |
