There’s no excuse for the dub to take this long, especially when it’s already airing in other countries.

Man, you wouldnt have lasted watching anime in the early 2000s with how long those dubs took to come out.

Pokemon has generally always been ahead of the game with dubs, normally only being a cour or 2 behind, this is no exception, when the first batch drops, they will also be a couple of cours behind.

His point is that the dub's been ready for months. It premiered in the UK on December 1st.

For a company so hellbent on making sure the releases of various Pokemon products line up (even at the expense of their quality, as recent games have shown), I'm surprised PUSA or some higher up has never forced the English dub to pick up the pace. Why would they not want the anime's English release to coincide with the English release of the respective games they're supposed to be advertising? Scarlet and Violet will have been out for almost a year and a half in America before Horizons releases.

In the English dub, a majority (if not all) of the music is replaced.

Main character has a Pikachu.

I feel as if I have seen this before during the last 25 years.

I've been watching anime since the 90s. Razz

Even as recent as XY, the dub proved it could keep up as close as two months behind the Japanese version, so it's just crazy to me how Netflix won't premiere the dub until almost 12 months after the Japanese premier date.

Maybe there is a behind the scenes reason we're not privy to, but otherwise, it feels lazy.

Not that it's a bad thing. I never paid much attention to the music changes since I don't know if the Japanese version of Horizons' OST is any better.

Main character doesn't have a Pikachu though.

I promise, it's a bad thing. Modern Pokemon dubs have some of the worst replacement music I have ever heard in an English dub. The placement of said music doesn't help.

The Digimon dub aired in the early 2000s and those were being released in the US only four months apart from the Japanese release. There's no excuse for Netflix to be taking even longer than a Saturday morning show from 20 years ago especially when the dub is already airing in other regions and was already delayed once after they previously set it to come out last year.

It’s pathetic that Scarlet and Violet’s last piece of game content came out yesterday, but the show won’t be premiering for two more months. They could’ve used the delay in the Japanese airing to finally get a simultaneous global release, but instead they’ve made it worse than ever.

Why? I heard music from the dub at Diamond and Pearl era onwards. So the anime is unwatchable because of the bad music from the dub?
