So, is there any reason to go to the Van Gogh Museum if you can't even get the Pokémon TCG promotional card?

The moment I saw the title I was like, they weren't giving away a game card were they, that would be a disaster! And sure enough...

If 2023 hasn't been the ultimate proof, nothing will. The internet was a mistake.

Well, sounds fitting that a Van Gogh collaboration would be filled with drama and tragedy.

This whole thing was hell for Pokemon fans.... There were reports within the TCG circles that scalpers were threatening to steal cards FROM CHILDREN. Yes you heard me GROWN ADULTS wanting to steal from children. God I hate this fandom...

This whole thing was so messed up. Scalpers outside the museum wanting to buy the cards from LITERAL CHILDREN.

So was it "steal" or "buy"? Kind of a big difference between the two. I'd believe either. Read some crazy stories about Pokemon cards before.

Likely both. But even if when buying, if you offer a kid with no real concept of the value of things something like €25 with the intent of selling the card later for 20 times as much, that's about as bad as stealing to me.

But even apart from that, it was just sad to see grown people literally fight over those cards. And I bet most aren't even fans but just scalpers trying to make a quick buck. And looking at how many cards are offered at absurd prices, there's a lot of that scum.

I was hoping this article would answer my question as to why Van Gogh-chu has both ears Very Happy

I feel like the Pokemon Company should have known better. Lines at Comic Con are stupid insane to get limited quantity event merchandise so why would a limited release Pikachu card be any different?

Yeah, this entirely. I blame the Covid-19 Pokemon TCG boom. Some folks believe they can get rich quick just by selling a few cards. It was so bad that Pokemon had to ramp up tcg production and reprint product just to keep up with the demand. I lucked out in getting both of my Van Gogh pika promos at MSRP (aka, bought the product, got card as a bonus) type deal.

The internet has nothing to do with people being stupid. People have been stupid since the dawn of humanity.
