Hey guys, minor correction, the image for Fate/Stay Night you used is for the Ufotable TV anime but that's not what they're adding, they're adding the Unlimited Blade Works movie Studio Deen did after the original TV anime. Might be worth correcting otherwise it could lead to confusion (tho even if you did I doubt most people these days are even aware that a UBW movie even exists lol)

I'm sure this is just licenses renewals that comes with running a streaming site, but it's weird seeing a list of stuff added that Sentai licensed years ago.

Can they please fix their awful, difficult to read subtitles before adding more shows? I'm actually begging them. I want to legally support a lot of these anime and I have a year's subscription to HiDive, but their subtitles are bright yellow or white, have no outlines, and in some cases (like Made in Abyss) are WAY too close to the middle of the screen. It's grossly distracting.

I figured it was the DEEN movie (which I also liked), but the Rahxephon movie! Kids on the Slope! Kino's Journey! My Love Story! Shirobako!

Erm... I think that qualifies for more than just a "minor correction" and yes leaving it as is would no doubt cause a poop-ton of confusion.

Not sure what was going on with Shirobako but it was unavailable to stream on Hidive for quite a while.

This isn't just an announcement about licenses being renewed. These shows were removed from HiDive over a year ago with no warning and no explanation for months. This is them announcing that they're being added back to the service. This was especially bad for the KyoAni shows, which lost their OVAs (which are all canon stories) and their movies (which are usually their endings). K-On! was especially hurt by this, since the community does a yearly rewatch for Christmas, and it lost its New Years episode and the movie that caps it all off, but Love, Chunibyo, & Other Delusions lost its OVA which literally sets up the plot of the finale. Beyond the Boundary is still missing both its recap movie and the ending movie. And the entirety of Amagi Brilliant Park was taken down until the last couple months!

tl:dr: Sentai really messed up a lot of shows and are only now starting to get them back in order.

Last year HIDIVE removed several titles from their service (I am guessing this is related to licensing), but they promised to bring them back. This is good news.

Wish they'd put Flip Flappers back up, but Kids on the Slope's pretty welcome, always really dug it.

Am I really the only one who has issues with their streaming platform?

I don't have an issue with their subtitles, especially the one you mentioned about being too close to the center of the screen. Right now my biggest beef with HD's subs is that they don't offer the option to skip the OP the way most other streamers do (CR recently started doing this, too).

Sadly, To Love Ru is too available to stream in the UK. I suppose it's good that they've put Himouto! Umaru-chan season 1 back up, since season 2 is on there.

Too close to the middle was specific to season 2 of Made in Abyss. See if that looks like an accurate description to you.
