Can't wait for future episodes! For me, it gets better with each chapter/episode.
And it was interesting to see some of the new stuff the anime added in the first episode.

I wasn't sold right away but the opening was pretty good. By the end of episode 2 it just clicked, this might be good.

Might have to give this one another try. I read a bit of the manga and it didn't really click with me, despite usually loving horror stuff. I found Yayoi to be kind of grating, to be honest.

The manga didn't really click for me, but then I read volume 2, and; wow.

Looking forward to watching this anime get there, and looking forward to more of the manga.

I noticed in the op or ed that two people were holding cursed hands. And then she manages to find him INSIDE the hardware store on demand. This ends up being passed over as "we dont have time for that now", but seems important. Maybe her curse let's her find him anytime?

I am liking this series so far: the horror part is not so horror and it departs from the usual stories about terror/horror/curses. It's dark and has terror, but not as we usually watch it.

And, to some extent, fill the niche of "terror for kids" that was vacant since Gegege no Kitaro.

Episode 4

spoiler[There's more evidence of yandere Eiko earlier in the manga, some of which has been touched on in the anime in a way that makes me expect it will be revealed in a future episode.] Probably in this next episode, as one of the elements figures prominently in the preview.

I think Yayoi knows about the depth and nature of Eiko's feelings for Keitaro, but it doesn't phase her because she's a weird little girl herself.

A Dark Gathering + In/spectre crossover would be fun. Easy to imagine Kotoko wanting to liberate the spirits Yayoi has imprisoned, but it would have to take an entire season.

I hate that damn hand every time they show it. Makes my skin crawl Confused I guess I have to give the show credit that it does disturb me even if it’s on a different level!

Does Eiko get periodic treatments for her hand like Keitaro does, or does she not need to for some reason? If she does need to, who does it? It's not Yayoi that's keeping it at bay since it seemed to be news to her that Eiko was also cursed.

I think the issue with the episode's production values (other than it being outsourced and what is very clearly a low priority for OLM) is the source material itself. The chapter pretty much plays out the exact way the episode does, right down to the extremely long driving scene, and given how faithful the show's staff has been regarding the content and the series being paced 1 chapter per episode, this is probably going to pose a problem down the line when there's not much content per chapter, and a lot of it being as slow paced as it is won't help.

It's definitely low priority for OLM but I don't think it's entirely being outsourced? I could be wrong but looking at Twitter and AniDB it seems they have some in house animators working on the anime.
Looking at the trailer it seems the first cour will end on chapter 15 so they'll be doing more than one chapter per episode soon. In fact, the episode 6 preview shows stuff from chapter 7.

in the question of which ghost, if any, Yayoi had sealed for her overarching purposes.

It seems to be a mistranslation on Hidive's part. In the official translation she says "A spirit that's eaten so many... will make for some good fodder". So Nagayama was eaten by the goddess' finger.

I really disliked how it appeared that Yayoi ran away and left the ghost to kill more people in the future (and yet stating that there would be no more victims?). But the manga chapter makes it clear that the ghost was taken care of, so it does seem like it was a mistranslation.

I feel like the manga had a better reveal for Eiko spying on him, because the scene starts with Yayoi bursting in and Eiko hiding the computer screen; we don't see the screen until Yayoi does, so the explanation after that didn't feel drawn out. I think this was a side effect of needing to stretch time for one chapter per episode.

We can tell even before the dead giveaways that the vibes on Nagayama and his Travel Club are rancid, but there's still just enough reasonable doubt that his scary story to Keitaro will be a fake-out of some sort before the dreadful dawning realization.

I'm not sure how there was ever any doubt. When Eiko and Yayoi were watching on her laptop, the black miasma rising from the screen was pretty unambiguously evil. What wasn't clear was whether or not Yayoi could see it, since she didn't react to it at all. She did react to the Lord of the Flies buzzing though, so I guess she heard that and the "Die, die, die." Though Eiko seemed to be saying the latter is a constant companion of Kei's rather than just this week's entity.

I think what they were trying to communicate is that the glasses are able to pick up on ghosts in the area reacting to Kei, since he is a magnet for them and cameras pick up ghosts (or something similar). The manga is slightly more clear about that. I guess the noise of the other, minor ghosts made it a bit less obvious that there was a threat nearby until it revealed itself to Kei.
