Looks like a cute show! Looking forward to seeing the leads' relationship play out!

Something good shoujo! I liked the manga story but the artwork was a turn off to me so that is somewhat improved by the anime. Maybe I can enjoy this but I think my days of proper shoujo have finished.

Man I would have liked if the Romantica Clock had a proper anime. Nakayoshi shoujos were pretty good.

I made the same mistake when I first saw the seires but it's actually not a shoujo, it's a seinen series.

Skip and Loafer also isn't necessarily a romance. It has some romantic elements, but it's much more of a school slice-of-life. In other words, if you're coming into this hoping to see it focus on romantic development, you'll probably be disappointed.

But, yeah, Skip and Loafer is incredibly good as a school slice-of-life. Probably one of my favorites in that subgenre, with how fully fleshed out the characters are.

It has a definite romantic throughline and the principal pairing was defined from the very beginning, but rather than making the common mistake of putting two leads on a collision course with each other's crotch, the manga puts the focus on their lives and develops the side-cast. This way we can appreciate the characters' lives outside the romantic context, so any relationships that develop feel like a conscious choice made by these characters based on their experience with each other rather than something the premise obliged them to do.
