Well, I honestly do not understand what exact reason makes WSM still even trying to keep To Your Eternity - it's like watching people still trying to sail on a ship that is eaten by rust so much that is already broken in pieces.

The second arc cemented TYE as the automatic bottom tier of WSM ToC ratings no matter how they push it, like getting CP for one volume to getting straight back to the last place on the next. The manga volume sales diminished to the point that the latest volumes barely can sell 20k, and that is after the anime series release. The upcoming second season will not help it either.

Really, at this point keeping this trainwreck sounds like a joke about the editors of WSM being so out of touch that they will axe absolutely everything, but TYE will still live.

Well, I loved the first season of the anime, and hope their will be more manga and anime seasons to come. Even if TYE goes of the rails, people still wanted Promised Neverland to continue, and after some point, that just devolved into some weird bullshit in which all the characters agreed genocide was logical, and only one of them opposed genocide for emotional reasons (FFS, genocide is not logical). I doubt this "goes off the rails" anywhere near the degree TPN did. Call me whatever, but I prefer something like To Your Eternity, which has potential to be a masterpeice, than the most polished story with no potential to be a masterpeice, I don't rate based on how few plotholes or how on-model the animation is, I rate based on how it makes me feel.

Absolutely agree with you! I watch because I like the story and characters, emotions that they deliver to me.

I'm currently finishing up the first season since for some reason I never watched it despite loving the first episode. The prison island arc is definitely worse and the animation definitely took a hit but I still wouldn't say it's AWFUL yet like I remember so many people saying. The worst probably has yet to come but at least this part is good.

Oh, indeed worst yet to come, and if people already thought that the story turns awful on the prison arc - well, I just gonna see their reaction to the parts yet introduced, considering anime by now only covered less than half of the first part, and it totally will not reach the beginning of the second arc - which was a massive turn-off of the people who survived that trainwreck.

As somebody who had seen immense potential in TPN during the first arc and was severely critical of virtually every choice it made afterwards, and also read the manga for TYE, I can say they're two very different kind of trainwrecks.

TPN has a very engaging premise but disappoints you with squandered opportunities and bad choices. It's frustrating, but you keep reading until the end in hopes that it will recover.

TYE has a very weak premise and lures you in with emotional hooks instead, but then you realize it had nothing to say all along and completely disengage with everything that happens after a certain point. It's a complete and utter self-destruction.

I completely lost interest for this series in its 2nd arc. I think the series as a whole could have ended just fine in the first arc, and even where the first anime season ended. I really don't see any meaning in a 3rd arc, unless it changes everything again and does something extraordinary with it I guess.
