I have not seen the first episode yet, so I have no idea if this is even on brand for it yet, but I wonder if it was due to parody issues like other comedies such as Osomatsu-san? I'm just confused as to how they would cancel a whole episode for broadcast unrelated to production issues and yet air the next one on schedule still lol

Abe’s passing might have to do with it.

Not familiar with the show's brand of humor but this is so last minute I did have to wonder if it was due to some sort or real life event - especially with the ep being straight out cancelled. Wonder if it will make it to the eventual physical release.

The episode was gonna feature an assassination plot. Pic from the synopsis before they took it down.

Episodes that were skipped over in broadcast before made it to OVA status in the past (with a few exceptions like the kuchisake-onna episode of Ghost Stories), I wouldn't be surprised if this one winds up the same way. Though this being a high-profile assassination, I won't be surprised either if it becomes straight-up lost media.

Makes sense would of been in poor taste to air it so soon. I do wonder if it will be made available at one point such as with the physical release.

Ah, yeah that makes sense to remove it... Wonder if it will ever air or just become lost media

As someone already mentioned, maybe with the Blu-Ray release, or never.

The 'various circumstances' are more than likely related to Abe Shinzo's gruesome assassination yesterday.

Yes, ‘various circumstances’ just seems to be used as a standard vague euphemism.

Man, what is it with anime that causes controversy, intentional or not, it's never the one that shouldn't be made like that harem Labyrinth one, but the ones that no one would be caring about unless it's stuff like this?

Filed under L for Lost Media, there's no way this will be released on BD and worse yet, it's probably completely lost as in it will be destroyed soon due to Abe's passing.

Unless the episode specifically mentions Abe, I don't think things will go that way. If that was the case, then every anime that has an assassination of a political leader would also have to be pulled. Today's episode of Engage Kiss had the characters trying to prevent the assassination of the city's mayor and we didn't see this episode get cancelled.
