I typically say I'm cautiously optimistic about upcoming games I might like...with SO, the phrase might be "Cautiously Pessimistic". I hope the battle system is fun, at least; thats generally the saving grace of this series.

It is interesting that they have the dual protag thing again, though. If they want to recall back to Second Story, probably the best of the series, then they could have much worse inspirations.

There's the mix of fantasy and sci-fi I expect from Star Ocean.

Also I think I hear Ray Chase, Erica Lindbeck, Eden Riegel, and Keith Silverstein in there.

It can't possibly be any worse than SO5, right?

That's what I thought about SO5 after SO4, and also what I thought about SO4 after SO3.

That said, Divine Force's trailers definitely look pretty, but it takes a lot more than a pretty trailer to make a good game...

I liked SO4 although it did have some stupidly long cut scenes. SO5 was trash though. Battles could be fun and at first glance it looked nice but everything else was bad. The story, the realtime cutscenes with a stupid floating camera, the characters, ESPECIALLY the pervy captain who was hitting on every female character (and I do mean every .. age was no limit for that guy!).

So yeah they would have to try really hard to be worse than SO5

SO6 is shaping up nicely. I do wonder why Nina's outfit is different on the box art and in the game itself. I can understand the gloves being something she puts on in the game, but that thing covering her chest is attached to the straps on her clothes.

*Looks at location*

With all due respect... Yeah, that's just your foreign opinion and the creators, who are Japanese, would laugh at you if they saw what you said. Not sure how you can be into anime and Japanese video games and have issues with the Japanese mindset. The creators, who are adults, didn't think it was bad because they know their countrymen have no issue with it. The ratings (Cero) board, who are adults, didn't think it was bad because... repeat. It's fine if you think the story wasn't good and the camera and characters weren't great, but you cross the line when it comes to cultural differences, ESPECIALLY when it has no impact on whether the game is bad all because you want to point it out and whine about it. How many years have you been complaining about that? Since Dragon Ball with Roshi? Since Yugi's grandpa in the Yugioh manga? Since Takeshi from Pocket Monsters? See a pattern here? You know to expect it and yet you still complain. Have you seen the Japanese reactions when Square Enix's Western branch got a certain thing in SO5 censored even in the Japanese release? They had bad things to say about foreigners, so believe me when I say that my reply is light compared to the dark things they'd say about you had they read what you said. Respect cultural differences. Nuff said.

Wow the Character design is so lame, I feel a lack of charism. Well it was the case for previous games, but for this one though... MC looks like nothing, even the seiyuu is bad. Main girl seems better, but overall the face and haircut is kinda boring and in contrast to her personality.

I'm looking forward to this. It's looking to be better than 5 already gameplay wise. Graphics are a bit odd but Star Ocean has always had questionable 3D graphics. 3 was the best since they were still very anime-esque but 4 and 5's modeling left a bit to be desired, especially if you compare the 2D art to the CG. Seems tri-Ace still hasn't gotten down fully 3D transitions yet for the gorgeous 2D designs, but I don't think they look too bad. At least the girls look very cute. Really liking Elena the most so far.
