So this is the best Atlus got? A 25 anniversary and the best persona news they got is a release on the xbox platform while you cant play them on playstation yet. Good way to kick your fan base in the balls while we are waiting for some good atlus news after we got nothing for so long..... Good job Atlus

I am a simple woman. This means the female route on P3P will be available to a wider audience, and that is enough for me

Maybe one day 3 and 5 will make it to Steam so people will actually get to play them, instead of being trapped in the Microsoft Store.

Nice to see P3P and 5R coming to PC and all 3 games coming to Xbox. Hopefully P3P & 4G will be coming to Playstation and all 3 will come to Switch soon as well =)

Golden is on Steam, so I'm sure these will follow.

Atlus is too lazy to remake FES with the features that P3P got, and to make P3P port they just need to upscale the Vita port like what they did with P4G on PC.

I would definitely prefer the original Persona 3 and FES to be ported. The removal of free roaming and features in P3P to make it fit on the PSP were a major loss gameplay wise.
I'm also a bit concerned at the announcement of a new localization given the person in charge of it has a history of supporting censorship. P3P and 4 Golden might be getting some censorship this time around like Royal did in the west.

If you're in the market for new Samsung TV, you will be able to play these on Game Pass there too

……They’re available on multiple PlayStation platforms but they’re trapped in the Microsoft store?

Unless the original port of 3 gets rid of the not being able to control your party bullshit nah.

Are we really doing this?
Because whatever changes you’re alluding to being made in Royale I sure hope it’s not what I think it is. Because that getting changed was not a negative.

Well, this announcement proves that there was never an exclusivity deal between Atlus and Sony, or if there was one it's over. That said, it feels weird that they didn't make any mention if P3P and P4G are coming to the PS4/5, because I'm sure they'll arrive on those consoles as well. As for why the mainline Persona games aren't available on Switch although the spin-off games are, it's probably because Microsoft paid SEGA/Atlus enough for those games to appear on their hardware, the Xbox is lacking some JRPGs and the Persona series is hugely popular, I don't think Nintendo is interested in paying for a port and they already have the JRPG genre covered with games like Xenoblade, Fire Emblem and Pokémon. It also could be possible that Atlus considers the Switch as a companion console and assumes that the people who own one already have a PS or Xbox
Still, there are some rumors that a Nintendo Direct is coming next week and it could be possible, though unlikely, that they'll announce that the Switch will be getting P3P and P4G, but I don't know if the Switch can run P5R.

Yeah, ick. For the record, this is how the person handling the localization explained what’s involved in it.
Quote: | Honestly, for a port title, it's mostly just making sure everything from the legacy version makes it into the port OK and adjusting any button prompts or terminology for the new platform.
Not to downplay that work, though. Porting a game is hard, especially on devs! |
No indication they’re “censoring” anything or making any changes.

To see P4G making it to Xbox first before appearing on PS4/5 made my heart sank. Otherwise I'm happy for Xbox owners who want to play Persona and for the series to get wider exposure. RIP the original P3 and FES. FES was such an important addition to P3.

I'm 100% expecting these to be announced for Switch as well at the next direct.

Unless P5R is a major upgrade in visuals and in performance from the original, then the Switch can run Persona 5 Royal. The original Persona 5 released on the PlayStation 3.

Game Pass is enticing Atlus to finally splash into Xbox
The successes of smaller studios on Game Pass apparently convinced Atlus

And they're on Game Pass too - if ya have any device that can play Game Pass at all, ya can play the games!
