I know that darker than black is good, but I'm also surprised that it got licensed so soon. And good for Funimation for finally announcing xxxholic publicly even thought its been a given for quiet some time now.

Great news on Darker than BLACK. Even when it gets into parody such as episodes seven and eight I find it to be enjoyable, and there's still plenty of potential to capitalize on.
Now I can only hope that the encoding will actually be competent on here so the video won't be messed up, but that might be asking too much for FUNi... And I suppose some Love Hina fans will be happy that they can get the anime as it seemed to be going OOP under Bandai Entertainment. While I love and own all of Love Hina,the specials and the Love Hina Again OVA series,I really gotta wonder why FUNimation is bringing a series out that was brought out already and why (if they do) they would waste time re-dubbing one of the ONLY good dubs ever made.

Great, so instead of taking the video quality of Love Hina forward they are going to take down a few notches with their infamous "in house" authoring. Horrible news.

Good to hear about xxxholic. That is one I have been waiting for. Did they give a date?
Also I have heard good things about Darker than Black. Love Hina, well considering how impressed I have been with there complete sets, it makes good sense for those that want everything, but still really want everything. Did I hear someone say they are going to re-dub it though, is that confirmed??? |

Why Hunter X Hunter has yet to be licensed after all these years is even more of a mystery than why Monster and Ouran not being licensed. And it would make sense for them to license Hunter X Hunter cause it'd be right up their ally and would probably draw a decent fan base if they advertise it along the lines of "from the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho presents....". |

Dr Slump was a series that Funimation was probably trying to get but never could considering they did own the rights to the doctorslump.com website. Slam Dunk already came out in the US by Toei, no one bought and Toei went back to trying to have companies license their shows from them. That said I am pretty excited about Darker than BLACK, that's really quite a shocker for me. Looks like I am going to be waiting for the DVDs on that hopefully they get release quickly, because damn that is a really cool show. I am really shocked that it appears that no one has Claymore, or no one has said anything maybe Otakon. @Light NHK was licensed by ADV earlier this year, check the news. And yes I do cry with you about no Monster being announced, although can't say the same for Ouran, I haven't seen that show but damn that are a lot of folks who want it to come out. As for Hunter X Hunter, I guess no one struck at the series when it was hot and now it's one of a million shonen series to never be brought over to the US.
I'd hope to hear that it's sooner seeing as how I thought it was announced way back when in this newsarticle.

Oh come now, that's pretty damn unreasonable. I think they've proven their dubbing chops with their stellar work on Fullmetal Alchemist, Samurai 7, amongst other well-done translations. You'd have had more of a case back when all they'd done was the DBZ dub (which is still debatable) and some children's cartoons, but this is a vastly different Funimation we're dealing with now. |

I think some anime fans are still stuck in the 90s back when DBZ used to be on Cartoon Network cause other then that Funi has done a pertty good job with there anime I should know I own three series dub by them
now that im done defending Funi now its time to ask that one thing and that is... why are you trying to make me buy an anime that I already own?!?! |

Because many young newbie anime fans don't even know much (or anything) about Love Hina, and it has the potential to resell to a ton of people (combination of people who haven't seen it, and people who may want the added features of this re-release, if any). |

Hell when Tsubasa's dates were given, I looked for quite a while trying to figure out where xxxholic's website was. I thought there was no way it wouldn't be released together. And I ended up getting the movie site, and it had no info, but I still thought it was going to come out etc.. Very confusing times. As for dates, I suppose the best we can hope for is two months from now though. ______________________________________- Funi has authoring problems?? I guess I have been lucky, all my Funi discs work great. And I have at least 6 (soon to be 8) series that I can think of by them. This is the first I have heard of that. |
