Kurumada's website also confirms that the first two volumes of Saint Seiya: Final Edition, a new release of the original manga that contains fixes, updates, & new content, will also come out on June 8, alongside Next Dimension 13.

Kurumada hasn't finished Otoko Zaka yet. Also, Kurumada's been swapping between series for well over a decade already (ND's been sharing time with Ring ni Kakero 2, Otoko Zaka, the Fuma no Kojirou prequel short, the Saint Seiya side stories [Episode 0 & Destiny], & Ai no Jidai), so don't go finding stupid reasons to get yourself angry.

Finished or not, Otoko Zaka is a boring, uninteresting series, he really shouldn't have resumed in the first place...in fact It was axed in the '80s, for good reasons. It's been a waste of time for him and for me.

OK, and I've been loving Otoko Zaka for being the oldest-school homage it was made to be in the first place, and Kurumada's return to it has allowed him to showcase a side of himself that he hasn't shown before that often. it's precisely meant to NOT exactly be like his other works, because he's making his take on Hiroshi Motomiya's Otoko Ippiki Gaki Daisho from the late 60s & early 70s.
People can have different opinions, you know. You hate it, but to Kurumada it's literally the manga he had wanted to make since he entered the industry. If you want to be angry at anything, then be angry at Saint Seiya being so utterly successful that it has allowed Kurumada to pretty much make anything he wants at this point. Tons of mangaka wish they had the freedom that Kurumada has today, to just make whatever manga they want to.

I don't think Otokozaka is a good and fun piece, Silent Knight Sho comparing the two volumes of the series is more interesting. The more "old school" aspect of Otokozaka where characters don't have exactly a reason to exist besides fighting, among other dated aspects don't make me connect with that world and characters.
Anyway, Kurumada will not stop drawing any other manga he wants.

And the "fact" is that Masami Kurumada has more than earned the ability to make manga on his terms, making whichever manga he feels like making at the moment. Otoko Zaka is a manga that means a ton to him, and for his 40th Anniversary as a mangaka he decided to revive it, because his success over those past decades has allowed him to do so.
Seriously, this feeling that you're entitled to getting more of what you want, regardless of what the original creator feels, is just abhorrent, and especially now in light of Kentaro Miura's death. Instead of simply being happy that Masami Kurumada even continues to make manga on a semi-regular basis, and has the freedom to do it his way (Which most mangaka wish they had the ability to do!), you instead just constantly complain that Kurumada isn't slaving himself over his desk, continually making more Saint Seiya solely to please people like you. To be perfectly honest, it's this attitude (which I've generally seen over & over online for well over a decade by hardcore Saint Seiya fans) that makes me all the more happy that Kurumada is able to make manga on his own terms, and that he doesn't simply give in to what random people tell him to do.
I mean, his website even has a section where people can send him messages, & early on it literally had people demanding that he make more Saint Seiya; not simply asking, but literally demanding. While it's gotten better over the past couple of years, and most people simple ask politely, there still is the occasional demand, as though Kurumada owes something to them.

Otoko Zaka is probably the worst Kurumada manga I've read, it was a failure then, it's still a failure now. I'm sure he likes it so much he thinks it's its masterpiece, but unfortunately it's not the case. I really hope he decides to end it soon, and work on other (and better) projects.
