That's pretty cool. Now if only someone would use Tank! as their walk-in

Man, some people have described Ohtani’s baseball skills as like an anime character come to life and now he’s using an actual anime’s theme song for his walk-in song? Absolutely amazing. I’m so glad he’s playing for my home team.

He's not a pitcher in the clip used.
Sematics i know but he's a dual role player and at the time he's playing Designated Hitter. Title should probably reflect that instead as that's even what the PA is calling him since it's a American League game. Yes, i know he can and does pitch as well but that night he wasn't the scheduled pitcher. |

I was about to say that I though the PA announcer was wrong, but I didn't realize this clip was from the first game of the season when he was indeed serving as DH. Sunday's game was when he both pitched and hit for himself, and by doing so the Angels waived the right to use the DH for the entire game, so he would have been announced as the pitcher then. Also I got a kick out of the the use of baseball "match" in here. |
