Woohoo! Now we just need Crunchyroll to license the 1991 TV anime.

Huh? What does this mean? I honestly wish they could pick it up for dubbing.

The fact that this is on hulu leads me to believe that it could be a multi license and we could hear an announcement from funimations video tommorow when they do their drop of the rest of their fall announcements

This person hates FUNimation. Everybody's hating FUNimation nowadays, which I think is stupid.

As a disc collector and someone who enjoys English dubs, I prefer Funimation over Crunchyroll.

CR's Availability: North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS

If it is Funimation, then it will just be available on US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, 5 or so countries in Europe and Australia. The rest of Europe, Africa, and Middle East will be left out.

Other than Dragon Ball & One Piece, Toei deals with Crunchyroll for most of their stuff streaming-wise and have been for a long time so there was nothing to worry about with this one.

Home video is another matter because they haven't picked up those rights for Toei shows with the exceptions of Kado: The Right Answer (released under the old FUNiroll deal) & now World Trigger (coming soon through their new deal with Sentai) so who knows what happens here.

Not that FUNi was ever going to get it but you make a good point about this since Dai is popular in Europe and especially the Middle East (hence Dai's inclusion in the western-marketed Jump Force game). You ask around elsewhere about the series and most will bring up the Arabic dub of the 90s show, similar to Saint Seiya in Latin & South America, so with Crunchyroll getting the new show and with no BS restrictions from Toei's European branch, everyone can watch it now.
