Fully admit, MOBAs are not in the slightest a game type I like. But I'll give this a shot and keep most of my judgments until I get to try it for myself. I know people were wanting something far more than this - even myself, to an extent - but hey, it is what it is.

A tencent made Pokémon MOBA? Folks were already going into this presentation with low expectations, only the Pokémon Company could fail to meet such low expectations.

Even though they're not making the game? But seriously, interested or not, you cannot try to make the Pokemon Company to be deserving of total scorn from fandom hypocrisy. |

So lets see its a MOBA on a phone and probably with microtransactions. Thats like the trifecta of garbage. Well at least its not chinese right?

Kinda surprised at the people who actually wanted more Let's Go games, or Gen 4 remakes.
I'll take something new like this over those anyday. SwSh was a disappointment and Let's Go was a huge step back for the franchise. Maybe if this does well it'll spark some ambition in the franchise again and get it back on course. Although for a MOBA it looks pretty dumbed down too from what we saw. |

If you want the franchise back on course they will have to start hiring writers that can actually make an interesting plot and actually deliver something people want. How long have people been asking for a truly online mmo style pokemon?
Everyone that has played sword and shield should have realized that the people in charge of that entire writing fiasco should be ashamed. |

Go is insanely successful and fulfills the multiplayer Pokemon game far better than any traditional World of Warcraft-like MMO ever could. They're never going to do something like that which requires a ton of development and effort. Plus, given how deathly afraid the company is against real time chat, I don't see how an MMO would work with so many restrictions. It'd just end up being like Disney's old Toon Town game where you only have some preset phrases to use. Even Unite doesn't have communication which is simply absurd for a MOBA which requires teamwork and coordination. |

I have no interest in this mobile game and fans should be critical of Tencent's involvement in this game, but I don't understand where fans got this idea that GameFreak was definetly going to remake every Pokemon game after Let's Go. Unless I'm missing something, GameFreak never promised more remakes and this was just something the fandom assumed. And like Pokemon fans always predict they're going to announce a Sinnoh remake at every Pokemon Direct and it never ends up happening. I remember a week ago when fans were mad about Pokemon Snap getting announced instead of Sinnoh. Sinnoh remakes seems to have become the fandom's new "Bring Back NatDex" hashtag.

The original Fire Red and Leaf Green remakes only exist because the first two generation of games were incompatible with Gen 3, so they needed a way to bring those old Pokemon into the modern era of cross-gen support. They did eventually remake Gen 2 and Gen 3, mostly due to nostalgia I imagine, but there's really no reason to keep doing remakes of older games if they're not going to add anything new. Before the Gen 3 remakes came out people were demanding them all the time and "Hoenn confirmed" became a meme. I think the demand for Sinnoh remakes is more close to that than people who want the older Pokemon back. ORAS at least justified itself by adding new Mega Evolutions, but I fail to see what DP remakes would bring since I doubt they'll introduce new 'Galar' forms in Sinnoh. As far as Unite goes, I'm not interested in it, but it's specifically for the Chinese market where MOBAs are huge. |

So, they announced a game you're not interested in. What were the low expectations you had going in? I'm not exactly hyped for this game either, but I don't really get being mad that it exists. Pokemon really has become like Star Wars, in that it often seems like the fanbase has extreme toxic hatred towards the very thing they are ostensibly fans of. Demanding new content, then complaining about it. Demanding remakes because new things are bad, then complaining about those, too. Maybe this is just what happens when a franchise runs for too long, and the population of old-men-yelling-at-clouds gets too high. Some of the criticisms are valid, but sometimes I wonder if anyone still plays these games for, y'know, fun. Anyway, I'm mainly just looking forward to the new Snap game since I never got to play the original. Maybe a break from the combat gaming will calm the fans down a bit. |

Every time when I hear that an anime based game will be released, I get so excited, but when it actually comes out, I get disappointed all the time because it didn't live up to my expectations. I hope this time it will be at least close to my expectations. Pokemon GO was one of the coolest games I have ever played in my life, now I hope for such a boom from this one as well. I always search for poke news on Inversegamer, there they have a lot of cool things on their website and always keeps the readers in touch. So maybe the release date will appear on it.
