While I understand your frustration, remember that "B the Beginning" was a Netflix Exclusive and was released globally around the same time as the Japanese Netflix version. That type of Netflix streaming is good. Now, when it is a case of a show like "Beastars", Hell to the no! Still, I have a feeling that the "Great Pretender" will be a case of the "Beastars"-type delay.

Are you seriously that hung-up on the delay instead of focusing on the show that looks very interesting? Get your priorities straight, people.

Well, the Japanese trailer shows it as a Fuji TV Ultra block show as opposed to Netflix's and like everything else so far with local TV airings, I'd assume the same delay by a season. But this is supposed to be two cours, so it would be interesting to see if Netflix will actually wait that long or will do halfway through.

I've learned to accept that all the Fuji TV Ultra block shows are going to be on Netflix for the foreseeable future. It's still frustrating but I know to expect it now.

I can say that this series is likely to be very entertaining if the first episode is anything to go by. I saw the premiere episode last year at Anime Expo 2019. I will never forget seeing one particular action scene that played just as the hotel we were watching the premiere in started shaking! Was very confusing lmao, but it really was an earthquake that hit at the same time the action scene appeared lolll.

+1000
To be honest, all this whining about Netflix EVERY SINGLE TIME any show is announced to be in Netflix is getting tiresome... oh, well
Anyways, as for the series itself, this looks really promising. Kinda wish it was a bit less colorful and light-hearted (at least, judging by the PV...) but I am certainly looking forward to this.

This is the first Netflix show I'll probably pirate.

I agree. Also, I'm sure that when translating and dubbing a show into multiple languages there is a substantial price difference between translating it in bulk once it finished airing and doing it week by week. I'm guessing the production company and/or Netflix take this into consideration when deciding how to release a show.

^^^Indeed. Also, for a binge-watcher and dub-lover like myself Netflix works like a charm. I don't mind at all the 3 month wait tbh... not to mention that probably without Netflix's involvement we wouldn't have these series getting done to start with...

Good thing fansubs still exists its 2020 get with the program Netflix its the new decade learn to know what the term simulcast means.
Sad so many great series stuck behind Netflix jail especially Carole and Tuesday and Beastars they never got the popularity it deserved while airing.
I'm not a binge watcher I prefer my weekly releases when it comes to recent and airing anime. I only do that with old catalog titles that finished airing a couple seasons or years ago.

Any actual good show will be popular regardless of Netflix's approach. Carole and Tuesday is doing just fine in the US, for example, and so will Beastars most likely.
Meanwhile, anyone resorting to fansubs has no business declaring themselves a fan of the show they are pirating. Just be patient.

Except we live in the internet age and japanese people post spoilers on twitter and pixiv just like everyone else so yeah, f*ck netflix delays.
I say pirate it but once it's finally released put it on so it gets the legal views.
