they really won't lay this story to rest will they? I mean you still regularly hear about Death Note so long after the original manga finished serialization. That's crazy. Does the author write anything else?

Platinum End, which is essentially Death Note without training wheels.

that story went crazy pretty early on too.

I like the first half of Death Note but the second half; not so much.
I didn't like N that much and it seems this sequel story is going to have him as the focus.

I did like Bakuman which was also done by this author. Bakuman is great

I'm curious to see what, if anything, this turns out to be. I enjoyed DN quite a bit back in the day and even with its lesser second half, it still provided some interesting moments and memorable characters.
