Not the worst 5 minutes of my life. The girls were cute, the plot was just "my legs got wet and now we have a new (shapely) teacher," and they had nice, really well rendered, shapely, and fluidly-animated legs. It was basically "5 minutes of leacherous shots" and I'm not complaining. I liked the soft, not quite moe art style as well.

Peculiar uncanny valley going on here.
This short anime must have the best, more "realistic" legs, ever put in a japanese tv animation, but then the faces are standard anime faces. I'm very impressed. The art style and animation is worth watching and the characters and "history" are surprisingly decent. It's just an "innocent" little short, only with the particularity that the camera focus on legs.
They started with the right foot! |

If we're talking about a historical perspective, the year 2004, which may or may not be the year IanC got into anime, saw such things as Bible Black, Sex Taxi and Night Shift Nurses. And would you really want to go lower than that last one?
So I don't see that anime is sinking lower as such, it's more that fetish material, albeit relatively mild, seems to be becoming more mainstream. Maybe that's down to the ready availability of streaming platforms that has given wider exposure to things that in the past would have just had a limited OVA release, or maybe it's actually a move away from more hardcore fetish stuff. In either case, I'm not particularly concerned. |

Yeah, I assumed he meant non-hentai anime; sometimes I see people think of hentai as so separate that they say things like "that's not an anime, that's a hentai," even though that doesn't make sense.

It's like people either don't know or have forgotten Wild Wet West by Shirow Masamune is a thing (and would have been animated if it was affordable back then). |
