I'm watching the series for the first time now, and it's certainly entertaining hearing Chris Sabat like this. He was clearly having fun.  Though, if he were to reprise the role, I don't think he'll be able to do quite the same thing again. He'll probably have to sound a bit more normal this time.

She can definitely do it. She's played plenty of reserved characters. My question is: Will she do as good a job as Daphne?

idk I thought Daphne was kinda flat. Lovely singing voice though.

So far all the recasts have been appropriate. Actors unable to return or who, quite frankly, didn't give even a half-decent performance are getting replaced while those still around and did great are kept.
I'm old enough to remember when Kent Williams was cast as characters under 50, so it'll be nice to hear him in this role again.

Agreed!
He captured the flamboyant, vain arrogance of Ayame perfectly. Made me love the character. (And Noah fence to anyone who hates dubs, but with the OG Japanese cast being replaced with a 50/50 quality scale vs how good it was before. The dub is gonna be the best version imo all things considered.)

Akito's original va is still around, so maybe him, though given the reveal about Akito, they could go with someone else that can do a gender ambiguous voice, so who knows?
