Haru is a girl. In the first episode when it flashes back to her time on the streets, the kittens (presumably her siblings) call her “onee-chan.

Been watching this with my girlfriend who doesn’t watch anime (and grew up in India, so has really no exposure besides doraemon and ninja Hattori). We’ve really been enjoying it! So hopefully it keeps going strong.

I’m really enjoying this series so far. It’s giving me Barakamon vibes.
I love the cat’s perspective. I hope it’s like this every episode (I assume it will be). I think Tomokazu Sugita will be voicing a dog in this anime. I’m looking forward to that lmao. Also, Rose’s cat is so cute!! It’s nice to have a mellow anime as I’m watching mostly intense stuff this season (Boogiepop, Dororo, The Promised Neverland and the second half of Ace Attorney is going to be depressing) |

Petey's usually okay about not attacking when you pet his belly -- or at least, he gives fair warning. He might let out a really loud, long meow, though. |

Rose's review really captures how I feel about this show. Haru is adorable and the kitty animation is very charming. Petey is a squishy ball of adorableness, too. I hope we get to see more pix of the Bridges menagerie in the coming weeks.
Also, we did see a calico cat napping on Subaru's back porch, right? Looking forward to seeing more. (I had a vision of this thread turning into a series of commenters just posting a thumbs-up, followed by pix of their cats) |

Oh, don't worry. For starters, it's impossible for me to do that because I live in a whole different continent, and even if I were in the same country as you, I wouldn't do it. I'd limit myself to scritching his ears because I love cats so much I respect them fully.
That'd be awesome, but my dear cat passed away two years ago. Anyone else can start posting cat pics. GO! |

In general cats might not seem as affectionate as dogs, but my cat loves giving face-rubbing hugs (yes, he really does put his little arms around your neck), and he'll do it to strangers. If he's been left alone while we're at work, he also comes running to the door when we come in, and meows and purrs at us. He also waits outside my door in the morning and purrs at me when I come out. He will literally drop whatever he's doing to follow you around the house too. Well, as long as he isn't sleeping.

I'm also in a similar situation as Kawase, i wish we had a cat café here...
This was a sad but also heartwarming episode, i'm looking forward to Subaru developing his relationship with Haru and the people around him. Oh, and keep the cute cat pictures coming!

I had completely forgotten that this series was premiering this season until I saw it previews here and I am soooo glad for that.
To say I am a cat lover in an understatement. If I had the room, I would love to foster a bunch of them. Currently in total between my parents and I, we have 7 cats. I have 3 with me, and my parents who happen to live next door to me have 4. I might post pix of them sometime. There are 4 males and 3 females. A lot of the antics Haru gets up to make me think of my cats. My youngest are going to turn 3 this summer, so they are no longer as energetic as they once were, but I do get the randomly fighting at night, the bouncing off the walls, etc. Except, all 7 of mine are super picky with their toys. People have given me cat toys and the only ones they really like are some mice ones that kinda look like mice, but not quite realistic. I even bought them a mouse that squeaks and they aren't that interested in it. Anyway, I am really enjoying this series, and will be sticking with it till the end. |
