An anime series, constructed for an American TV audience, that WASN'T a kiddie show or toy commercial. And I don't mean an anime-inspired show written and directed in the US, a la Avatar: The Last Airbender. Would you watch it? Or would it feel too artificial for your collective tastes? I ask because Spike TV and Samuel L. “Snakes on a Plane LOL” Jackson are betting that you will once Afro Samurai hits the airwaves later this year
Yes I'd watch it. Although I don't fully understand the question. Maybe someone can "dumb it down" for me.

But an anime is an anime. No why it was created, if it is good (suits my taste), then I will watch. I'm glad it's directed at US audiences. Maybe they'll add American humor so I can finally watch an anime that I think is funny. Cultural notes just take the fun out of the jokes.

IGPX is an anime for Americans, and I don't find that really drab, so I'm not expecting much out of Afro Samurai.

Well I watched the first IGPX, but mostly just because it came on before Family Guy. But about half way through I actually made a point of not missing it, so I guess it caught my interest.

I am also interested in this one because they say CG is SOOO much better. And of course Lance Henriksen as the ROCKET.

Wow, I wasn't really into season 1 of IGPX but season 2 has alot better music and WAY better graphics, looks like it'll be a good show.

Why don't you ask Zac or another mod is you can get in contact with the person who writes "The Click" column. Every week you post the same thing that "Cybertron is a new episode and not a re-run".

No mention of Pom Poko at all?

For some reason, on Friday late nights, TCM (Turner Classic Movies) has been showing anime the last two weeks.

Last week they showed both Princess Mononoke and My Neighbor Totoro, in Japanese with subtitles, no less. The week before that they aired Castle in The Sky and Porco Rosso.

This week they aired Pom Poko, in the same fashion, japanese with subtitles.

I'm not sure how long this is going on, but I would recommend people try checking it out, if they're awake, or tivo/dvr-ing it.

I hadn't watched Totoro in seven years, and it was wonderful to see it again. I had never seen Pom Poko, but it was quite interesting aswell.

Oh crap, that was this week? Oops.

And about the Transformers Cybertron episodes in Canada: yes, I'm fairly sure they're new, but unfortunately being as Zap2it and other listings don't show any episode titles, nor do I live in Canada, I don't have any way to absolutely verify which episodes are airing. I'm not entirely comfortable listing something as a "new episode" without even so much as a title.

Well I am underwhelmed. I think it will catch my interest about the same as the last one did. So I will most likely watch. I thought the CG didn't live up to the hype, but I did think it was better. Course it is only the first Ep(2nd Sesn) right, who knows?

Well ya that's the problem as YTV's staff is as lazy as heck.Though Toonami is currently streaming episodes of it Online and they are in the 40ish episodes too.But thats only for American Residents. So I can't get the titles from there.

If it's any help episode 45 was called "Scourge".I know this source isn't reliable but the episodes that have been aired are correctly titled here:

Oh sh** I missed it again? I missed the last time they were doing that (January, "Miyazaki Month" or something) and was hoping they'd do it again sometime. The only ones I got to watch last time were Totoro and Whispers of the Wind (right?) which I found to be both amazing.

Ah well. Thanks for notifying.

I think the description of this Ghost in the Shell episode isn't very optimal: the Chief is not trying to dissuade the prime minister from launching the weapon, but simply to ask her to try and stop it. She wasn't the one who authorized it.

Though the episode was amazing. I finally understand the fuzz about Kuze, I mean, I finally half-understand it, in an incoherent way, like...

Bah. Forget it. Let's just watch the action. Confused

Samurai-with-glasses (Jin?), what exactly don't you understand? I could try to help you out and explain things to you, but I have only seen as much as what I presume you have seen, which means I have not yet seen the last episode of SAC 2nd GIG. I haven't seen the movies, either.

But anyway, do you want some help or something? Cool

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX
(YTV)
-Friday May 26 6:00pm - Episode 36 "Duel Distractions, Part 1"

A character with the unfortunate name of “Bastion” fumbles and mumbles with his deck while dueling more evil Shadow-people. I really, really don't think it's a spoiler to announce who wins this duel.

Actually, "Bastion" loses & the bad guy wins the duel. Razz Which thus starts Bast... er, Misawa's downword spiral into trivialness that eventually leads to him loosing his mind half-way through season 2. Be a long time before the dub gets to that point, though.
