I hope Cromartie wins. ADV's manga line needs it, and has been doing a good job on the series.

How interesting that an AVD Manga title is nominated for a prestigious award. I wonder what will happen if Cromartie High School ends up winning the award - this might quiet all those "boycott ADV Manga" chants that are (unfortunately) rampant in these fora.

That would really make Nonaka Eiji's day if it did.

biliano: Doubt it. The only way to end that is if ADV re-releases the series they cancelled/put on hiatus.

The fact that Cromartie got nominated over stuff like Sexy Voice and Robo, Yotsuba&! or The Push Man shows just how out of touch the Eisner panelists are with manga (not that it isn't good, but tell me there wasn't anything worthy of more acclaim published last year). At least they nominated Killoffer, though The Rabbi's Cat will probobly win (I'd be happy if either won).

Well Buddha has no chance. I'd place all my money on a bet that says Absolute Watchmen, deservingly, wins. This is judged by Americans and Watchmen in and of itself is one of two books that was incredibly influential in the eighties and left a lasting impact. The Absolute edition is gorgeous and really does add to Watchmen. No offense Tezuka, but it just insn't your year.

Of course the real question is whether or not Alan Moore will show up to accept the Eisner.
