At first I was like "aww.. too bad" but ya know what? It's fine. I'm just glad the Transformers movie is actually being made. Sure, it might possibly suck, becoming an embarassment to fans, friends, and all those involved.. but I'm still looking forward to it. And Shia can most likely do justice to the part, whatever part that is. I just hope he doesn't squeak too much.. he can get a little annoying on occasion.

Every time Michael Bay makes a movie, an angel cries.

There's a short, three minute clip somewhere out there of a test shot of a car transforming. I don't think it was from the actual movie, just something that whatever company (ILM?) did to see how it would look combining CGI transformation with live action cast.
It looks pretty damned good. You might be able to find it on YouTube. Anyway, when this movie comes out, it will at least look good in the effects department. |

I demand Even Stevens box sets
and he did a good job on that Disney Channel movie "Tru Confessions." |

That was just a very good fake, the internet is full of them. Here's the latest though this one isn't pretending to be something it isn't. Oh, and Shia is being lined up to play Spike in the movie. Emerje |

Well I'm hoping it'll be good. And if it's not, than the discussions about how bad it was will never end ^^.

As long as they get the same two guys from the cartoons to play Optimus Prime and Megatron, I'll be happy. I don't want to hear any big name stars behind those rigs like George Clooney or something. That could ruin the experience for everyone.

Why did the Transformers always hang out with kids, anyway? Did Optimus call a meeting and say "Let's face it, guys-the Decepticons are a bunch of wheenies. We can beat them without even trying these days, and that's boring. We're not being challenged out there. So to make things a bit more interesting, I've decided to recruit some useless little kids who contribute absolutly nothing but who we'll have to protect with our lives during battle."
At which point Hot Rod groaned about how he "hates escort missions." I'm betting this is going to be even worse than the Thunderbirds movie. |

I concur, though I never really was a fan of him. As for a Transformers movie being made, I'm one to think it will be nothing short of fun. I don't have too much expectations for it to be amazing, since it was way cooler for me as a kid than as an adult. But heck, I own the old movie and love every 80's cheese-inducing bit of it. Bay is perfect for the movie with fun movies like Con Air in his experience. One of my only hopes for it is also that they try to stick with original (or at least very similar sounding) voices--that's one of the most important trademarks of each and every transformer. |

I believe Optimus and the rest of the Autobots trusted kids more than adults because kids are less of a risk. 1) They are less likely to go gabbing to the gov't about them. 2) Who would believe a bunch of kids about a giant talking truck anyway? 3) Because the shows are targeted for young children thats why. Why have adults star in a kid oriented show! |

Also, if it's the very good fake I'm thinking of, it was released years ago during earlier rumours of a Transformers movie - which makes it even more impressive. Edit: Though I believe the one I'm thinking of was a van... |

It shouldn't be that hard, I think. Peter Cullen(Optimus) is still doing voices and so is Frank Welker(Megatron). But I don't know how they get the people to do these things so it might not be as easy as I think. |

I hope they get some of the original voice actors as well. That would tell me that they are being practical (im sure those guys dont cost nearly as much as hollywood actors), and that their hearts are in the right place.
I also REALLY REALLY hope that they get some of the original toy designers on board. Whoever designed Megatron was a design genius! As a robot, he's got this incredibly iconic, bauhaus look, and he transforms into a handgun! Howcool is that? Somehow though, i get the feeling that they're just going to do their own redesigns and hollywoodisize the designs to make them busier and less distinct overall. Or god forbid, they might go to the designers who did Beast Wars (a very cool, well written, but ugly show). |

The comment has been made by the production team several times "There are certain voices that can't be imitated" This has been taken to mean that original voice actors will be approached to do the movie as well. I thought Peter had made a statement that he would be VERY interested if they approached him but I can't find it now.
