I cannot recommend this manga any higher. It is amazing, sweet, funny, sexy and charming all at the same time. I cried quite a few times out of a simple feeling of being daaawwwwwwd but it was never overwhelming. I will admit the art style isn't for everyone, but neither is One Piece's. Also if you are looking for a manga where the husband is absolutely untemptable to cheat on his wife and is a BOSS while sidestepping advances of other women in style... this is your manga.

Sadly the author passed away a few years back. I genuinely cried when I found that out too. Makes me appreciate this manga even more now. Glad I can pick up a physical copy.

The way it's described in this review:
Quote:
What's particularly nice about this oddball couple is that things areworking out for them; Nobuo and his nameless wife's love for each other is never in question. They're devoted to each other, have a healthy sex life, and are able to work with each other's faults rather than getting upset about them. Their biggest challenge is making sure that no one sees her true form, rather than the kind of relationship drama we more typically see in manga, making this a delightfully refreshing read.

...Reminds me of one of the central ideas behind The Addams Family (well, after Charles Addams lost control of the franchise): They're creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky, but they were written to be the most loving, good-hearted family of all fiction of their time. The idea was that fiction during then, television in particular, was full of married couples in which the humor and drama stemmed from the two of them not getting along, and here was this incredibly bizarre group of people who are much better people than any of them.

I wonder if this was also trying to convey that message too, to not assume people are untrustworthy simply because they're weird.

Oh, wow. I knew this manga had been published some time ago, but I didn't know it was THAT long.

While I'm not familiar with the manga (though it seems quite good from the description), I remember this sad piece of news because the author was a friend of Okayado, Monster Musume's creator, and if I'm not mistaken Okayado made the chapter about death god Lala partly in order to cope with the grief caused by this loss. It was a chapter with no fanservice at all, much more somber and revolved around a little girl with a terminal illness.

I didn't know that! I am a huge MonMu fan and that makes me appreciate that chapter so much more. Thank you for sharing that info. Crying or Very sad

Enjoy and support your favorite authors folks. They are hard working folks with harsh lives sometimes.

Wow. i didn't know that. Coincidentally that is my favorite chapter of the series so far since it gives Lala much needed focus.

I will have to pick this series up soon.
