Very glad I finally got around to watching and catching up to the latest episode of Land of the Lustrous as it was kept in my "Plan to Watch" list on MAL for some time. I just love the show's use of rocks and minerals as a platform for storytelling as it conjures fond memories of learning about them as a child. I can still recall the Mohs hardness scale and the birthstones by heart to this day. The show is certainly the hidden gem of the season (pun intended). Anyways, I'm very happy to see it in the Top 10 list for overall rankings and hope it continues to climb higher in the coming weeks.
The new Kino's Journey remake on the other hand continues to go downward in its trajectory. I suppose it has disappointed many fans who've seen the original. I've seen the original too, but I try very hard not to be too overly critical of the new one. Instead, I attempt to judge it on its own merits. So far, I think it's decent - just not as good as the original. My personal favourite episode is the Country of Liars one so far. |

I am so shocked AMB was dethroned that I am unable to see the rest of the rankings. It is for me hard to believe that AMB is not number 1 this week, but my biggest shock is what replaced it. Season 2 of 3 gatsu has been more consistent that the first season, but come on, 3 gatsu remains being the show with ton of potential that is squandered with silly shenanigans and unfunny comedy.
If any show deserved to dethrone Ancient Magus' Bride, it should have been Girls' Last Tour.
But it is not. According to ANN the hidden gem of this season is URAHARA.

As far as recaps go, I didn't think Yuki Yuna's was that bad. It's been a long time since the show, and it got the beats going without being too uncaring about the material. As a reminder of the original, it served its purpose well.
And AMB remains being the show with ton of potential that is squandered with absolute boredom. Opinions are weird. Anyway if anything's taking first place away from Gem Boys I'm at least ok with it being Depressive Shogi With a side of Bad Comedy |

Did you just describe AMB? Because honestly, it fits perfectly.
Land of the Lustrous was a hidden gem that got recognised. Now it has proven itself as a worthy gem. |

Land of the Lustrous should be in the top spot this week too but they put it in second place which is weird. It was the highest rated show this week with a 4.7. March comes in like a lion had a 4.6 and they put it above it.

Keep in mind that comparative ratings matter here, too. If people who are rating both are rating March higher than LL then that influences the rankings.
