GREAT news! I'm glad the new season wasn't Bahamut'd from Crunchyroll due to many Sentai licenses streaming on Anime Strike. So glad I'll be able to watch it legally with my CR subscription!
Still no word on how long season 3 will be?
-Marc.

That's great! Means I won't have to deal with Amazon's shitty canadian service.
But what I am really curious about is who holds the license.

That's potentially big news, assuming Sentai are licensing this season too. It means that Sentai are potentially returning to Crunchy, which is great news, now their shows won't be locked behind the double paywall. Although here in the UK, All Sentai's stuff is basically HiDive exclusive, and y'know I actually kinda like HiDive as a streaming platform.

Good, that's one show on my list I'll be able to watch without any trouble! Now I'm just waiting to hear about the second seasons of Love Live Sunshine and Yuki Yuna.

^I have some bad news for you on Yuki Yuna. Since it's airing in the Animeism block, and Amazon has an exclusive deal for all shows in that block, it's basically guaranteed to be a Strike exclusive, like Altair and Bahamut this season.

I am surprised Crunchyroll was able to land this simulcast. I assume Sentai will still license it for home video.

I would not go that far. Sentai probably concluded that it makes business sense to keep this franchise in the same streaming service; the same will probably happen with the second season of Himouto Umaru-chan. But I expect Sentai to keep putting the majority of their new shows on Anime Strike for the foreseeable future.

They didn't do that with DanMachi though.

Perhaps Crunchyroll offered a lot of money to Sentai for Food Wars because it is more important than other Sentai franchises. This is just my speculation. We will have a clearer picture in 5 weeks when Sentai announces where their sequels are streaming. If Sentai decides to dump Anime Strike in favor of Crunchyroll or other service, fine.

A surprising but very nice move by CR. Now if they could be the ones to dub this instead of Sentai then it would be perfect

While they are at it they could dub all the franchises previously licensed by Aniplex USA and Ponycan USA.

Along with Sword Oratoria (as mentioned above), it also apparently didn't make sense for the 3rd installment of Rin-ne.
I would be less surprised if we learn CR actually beat Sentai to the rights for the series than I was by this announcement they have it.

Good. Crunchyroll seems to be making a comeback this season. They've already picked up several highly anticipated shows for the Fall.

I'm not surprised at all. This is probably a sub only stream while Sentai will still get the home video and dub steaming rights.
I know that Sentai is much smaller than Funimation but it should have a plan for simuldubs as well. I'd like to see them 4 weeks after the original stream. More than enough time to dub and helps them promote their HiDive service.
It's only a matter of time before Funimation/Sentai/other starts multi-dubbing works. They are big enough and there are enough dubbing houses around the world ready to provide their services. If Funimation/Sentai starts releasing English+Spanish+etc dubs they'll have my money for the rest of time (Netflix is great at this and I love them for it). Spanish dubs are really high quality and I hate the fact that I'm unable to support their work financially in the US.

Oh, I know about that deal. I just haven't seen proof yet that S2 will also be on Animeism. Sometimes sequel seasons aren't: Food Wars itself is the perfect example of that with S1 being an Animeism show and S2 and - evidently - S3 not, so I'm still holding out a faint sliver of hope.
