Well at least it's way more affordable than PS Plus.

The classic title selection description sounds a hell of a lot better than what was hinted before and verrrry intriguing in general.
Since it sounds like a potential slam dunk but online connectivity is involved everyone please cross your fingers that Nintendo doesn't somehow manage to screw this one up

I'm not necessarily happy that Nintendo's caved into the "pay to play online" thing (and up yours Microsoft for starting it), but they're offering a very reasonable price for a variety of good features.

Nintendo's price tag of their monetized online service of the NS isn't nearly as bad as that of Sony and Microsoft's, but it doesn't make any less painful that they decided to go in this direction.

Pfew. I was worried it was going to be 60 bucks. Now 20 bucks a year, Splatoon is worth that.

And I always like how Nintendo didn't force you to pay for playing online :/
Oh well at least the prices are low.

Which has variable pricing so you're not mandated to throw away 60 dollars every so often plus if you can afford the games you can afford the 12 month subscription.

Gotta pay for the server maintenance and upkeep somehow.

I honestly wasn't even considering paying for the online services as I wasn't sure how much I'd use them, but this makes it seem far more enticing then I was thinking it would be... I guess I'll be looking into it, anyway.

Yeah, honestly, the price is way lower than I expected it to be, and with added perks (which sounds like an apology from someone that they had to do this).
I do wonder if the costs of running an online gaming infrastructure has gone up and this is why they're doing it.
I guess that leaves mobile gaming with non-subscription online services, but head-to-head play in mobile gaming is horrific. I wish they'd do something about that, especially now that Skullgirls Mobile is now up. But I doubt there will ever be enough agreement among the different manufacturers to have decent online play for mobile games.
