Umm, further north than Miami. Saw a Itasha car on my way into Kissimmee a few weeks ago, was decorated for one of the "Tales of" games. They aren't all that unusual in the Orlando metro area.

I would like to see what the SCOTUS thinks about this concerning if such an act constitutes copyright infringement. The issue of cosplay here has also been brought up with them. I suppose it is just a case by case basis.

I'd never seen one either, but in hindsight, I'm not surprised. Splatoon is incredibly popular in Japan. (And elsewhere. But Japan more than anywhere else.)

Well, we have Disney character cosplay, and a whole bunch of it at many events (with characters from Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen being the most popular ones, as well as whatever Pixar movie is the most recent). Disney has a reputation of being among the fiercest of companies as far as copyright enforcement goes, so I'd say that most major entertainment companies will ignore these displays. They've learned from the disaster that was purges of anything Simpsons-related in the early 00's. (Though I hear the Schulz Estate is still incredibly vicious over any fanworks about Peanuts.)
