Even though its attempt of being Girls und Panzer on sea sank hard, this was still a fun anime. I hope this OVA will be a sign of Season 2 in the future.

Um no the this series might have sold just enough units that the studio etc didn't lose their shirt but it was a flop in Japan and even more so over seas in the West and other countries.

GUP has t-shirts, model kits, figures, art books, doujinshi's, spin off manga's, a movie that was in theaters when I was in Japan for over 1 year and even had a US theater run. With more and more merchandise coming out and several new movies to end the series you can't even compare the two. Oarai has over 30,000 visitors show up for special GUP events and tons more all year round thanks to the franchise while Highschool Fleet in a reek desperation said hey come to our town too we want some fan tourist dollars.

Hell the GUP movie special edition sold over 120K units at 100 USD a pop and over 12K for the regular edition in the first week alone.

Highschool Fleet was a ok show that I watched once and never want to watch again you could tell it didn't know what kind of show it wanted to be and wanted so bad to be GUP at sea which it completely failed at.

When the show ended and the crew was saluting I didn't feel a thing and said good riddance.
