Cool!
I've been interested in Slam Dunk, but was never able to find it in any stores . . . does anyone know if this means it will be re-released from vol. 1, or will some other company simply pick it up from where it left off? |

I can't wait for this. I followed it all the way up to volume 5 or 6, and was heartbroken to find out Gutsoon went bankrupt. I can't believe it was created by Takehiko Inoue (Vagabond manga). Unless they re-organize and reorder the manga volumes, I'll probably continue with volume 7 though.

I'm sure they'll start from the beginning. It'll be nice and uniform that way.
Not at all. It just seems they decided to mention it in their shoujo magazine. ^^; I guess to get the news out quickly instead of waiting for the next Shounen Jump? |

Everyone remember, it doesn't specifically state a publisher.
I wouldn't think Gutsoon lost their liscense to it, yet. I'm hoping this mean's Gutsoon's return, as they said they were taking time off, and would be back. Now, if thats true, they can please hurry up and finish Fist of The North Star Master Editions. Regarding Slam Dunk, it's one of the best series out there, so, even if its true that Gutsoon lost the liscense, and it's being redone, it wouldn't bother me buying new copies of the first couple volumes. Maybe the old Gutsoon ones will become collectors items. |

Great! It'd be a real pain in the butt to try and find the first couple of volumes. (Not to mention awkward seeing only the later volumes on shelves.) |

I am glad to hear of this, but whoever picks it up...I'm not really sure about it because I loved the format that Raijin had it in. I don't exactly want Viz to pick it up because they'll translate most of the sound effects too.
