Not that it really surprises me that someone in a band would be going *gasp* speed.
 I just take illegal substance use to be part of the music industry these days.
Sucks that Daishi got caught though, he's enjoyable to see up on stage. Maybe he'll get off easy this time. |

Here is a link to the original original article, the link on ANN is wrong.
They took a urine test because they arrested him for drugs. He apparently agreed to take the test and they found speed in his urine. If this was Seek I could understand, but Daishi?? What is this world coming to... |

They did perform at Katsucon this year, so the band is at least somewhat related. |

sounds kinda suspicious. why would he be stupid enough to turn in a urine sample knowing that he did drugs?

Maybe because he was being held in a police station. I doubt it was a voluntary thing considering he was arrested. Now the real question is why would he be stupid enough to deny it when he got arrested for drugs and failed a urine test. Might as well come clean. Anyone know what kind of penalties you get for possession in Japan. I'm guessing it's even harsher than it is in the US. |

o_O Why Seek? Because of his appearance? That seems to be a bit of an unfair assumption... I'm not REALLY that surprised about Daishi. Has anyone seen how he's looked like at the recent appearances? He looked pale and thin and sickly. =/ So this isn't particularly like "omg" because.. he kinda looked drugged before. o_x;
Psycho le Cemu's members are all big anime and game fans, and their outfits are all very cosplay-ish. They've also appeared at anime conventions both this and last year. ^^ |

They also had a kickass concert at Megacon back in Feb. <3 And ever since, PLC merchendise has invaded the dealer's rooms of our cons (we've had two or three since megacon this year in fl). It's -insane- how popular they are out here. But that's another topic :p But anyhow, it says in the article he had to have done the drugs in mid-may. So far as I know (don't quote me on this) Speed can stay in you up to a month after taking a dose of it, long after the high is gone. He might not have known that, thinking that it had a staying effect more like alcohol. *shrug* I dunno. Conspiracy Theory. |

You think the rockers would learn after all the great musicians we have lost to drug and alchol abuse.If he acutally took the drugs he gets what the law prescribes.That might be sad but true.If he has a problem let us hope he gets it fixed before it is to late.

It doesn't really say. According to Mainichi, "Police said they asked Daishi to submit a urine sample. He did so voluntarily, and traces of speed where found after police examined it. " Reasonable speculation would be that he was first arrested on suspision for a reason not stated in the article, and then asked to submit the urine sample. But that's nto explicitely stated, and I couldn't find any articles that went into mroe detail (I looked). |

Le sigh, stupid Daishi. While this seems somewhat normal for American standards (we've been used to stupid acid/crack/speed/shroom-head rockers for 40+ years) , I wonder if it's considered more shocking in Japan?

I saw a story several years ago about a high school student who failed a drug test and it turned out he failed because a cold medication he was taking contained amphetamines.
