And now these kids hold a criminal record because of a Pokemon game. I hope that bites them in the butt in the long run.

They have a criminal record because they robbed someone, not because "of a Pokemon game". If the game wasn't there they would have just used another method (as the article says, they actually have). The game didn't force them to rob anyone.

It's something to be aware of. However, it's also good to be aware of the fact that 99% of players wander around fine. It's just like hitchhikers. I pick up hitchhikers all the time (obviously not if it "feels" wrong, I'm discriminate, but still) and I've never had any issue. Still, someone is that unlucky statistic.

It's a game, but it does have danger that people need to be aware of. Don't wander into the ghetto for a rare Pokemon, frequently look up to make sure you're aware of your surroundings.

Hate the thought that criminals would use this game for nefarious reasons.

And add to that all the idiots driving around at about 10mph and constantly stopping... Just another excuse to be on your phone while driving it seems! I was wondering why so many people just kept randomly stopping in front of me over the past week.

don't be wandering into some notorious neighborhoods over some virtual drawings

There was an incident yesterday in our town involving Pokemon Go! Our town has a relativity low crime rate since its not a big town, but like most - the churches are our primary pokestops and we have about 4 literally next to each other and prove to be a focal point for gatherings, yesterday evening apparently some heavy set guy who was drunk/stoned and had a cast attacked a bunch of kids/teens injuring several before the police showed up and arrested the guy.

Dang! I don't live too far from O'Fallon. Well, at least I don't have to worry about it as I wouldn't be caught dead playing this app game.
