If there could be said to be a theme to this fourth volume, it would be the threat of one small mistake.

Umm, Volume 3 you mean right?

There's more to come for certain, this thing gets complicated.

Can feel too cute at times, sports day doesn't add much to the story,

It is completely necessary as it creates a "moment of living" for Miki and helps convince her that the School Live members are not just "wasting time", having fun and interacting with each other means that they are in fact alive and not just endlessly "surviving" which slowly kills a persons soul.
Miki wouldn't be able to notice about herself but she was only hurting herself being alone and was justifying her method of hiding in a lone room in a mall because "at least I am not one of them".

The sports day combined with Miki's confrontation with Yuki is what turns her around and truly allows herself to become part of the School Live group.

I saw some future volumes in Japan. Glad to see the manga is still growing strong, so hopefully in a year or two we will see a anime sequel.
