God I hate these recap movies. I really don't understand why they act like they are a big deal. They just reuse animation and then slap in a little new content and act like they put years of effort into it.
I only liked the show in the sort of "this show is so bad it is good" way, but I am really disappointed with the creators. They left the series off with so many loose ends and places for progression in a second season and then when the show actually became popular they act like they have know preparation for fallow-up material.

It's not so much that they don't have follow up material so much as it is since they expected the show to fail, most of the staff left once they were done producing the show. Unless most of the staff was replaced 2013 probably is the earliest we could get a season 2/

Reading the wording of the article, it sounds more like Tiger & Bunny The Movie: The Beginning is more akin to a reboot than a recap.
Personally, I'm still disappointed - there was still quite a few loose ends left (such as Lunatic and Ouroboros). I would have preferred if the first movie had covered dealt with one of those two, while the second dealt with the remaining one.
Now, after Madoka Magica and Tiger & Bunny, I just hope the Steins;Gate movie is an original story xD.

I;m pretty sure even the second movie won;t be covering those loose threads. Even if they weren't originally planning on it, Sunrise would have to be stupid to cut off anything that could work into a future second season.

So it seems like the second movie is the one worth watching.

Yeah, I agree with this. If they make a movie I'd expect it to be a one-shot story about the gang battling against some new villain. Something that can resolve itself in two hours or less and wouldn't have a story impact on any potential future content.

Personally though, I'm not sure how a second season could work, considering how season 1 ended with Wild Tiger 1 Minute - an entirely new season could get tedious because of that.

Wait, they've announced a recap movie for PMMM!? As for T&B, it looks like we never will find out what would have lied beyond that ominous eplogue at the end of the series, unless "The Beginning" doesn't fundamentally change things. Do we even know if T&B will get a 2nd TV Season?

It will probably get a second season. Apparently in a couple of interviews it was said that the show was originally going to be more resolute in it;s ending, but was left open ended BECAUSE the show suddenly became popular, so presumably Sunrise will exploit it for all it's worth.

I think Tiger proved in season 1 that he can be a total Badass Normal, so that won't necessarily be an issue. And if there are new characters (the second tier unit he was in at the end?) he could be the grizzled leader, which could work out great.
That said, I fear a retelling; if they change a lot of stuff, then the sequel movie will be alternate continuity, and what I really want is a second season.
That, and for Viz to finally release the first season on DVD.

If what you say is true, Divine king, then a second season sounds like a definite possibility. Who knows if I can stay sane without my T&B.
