From Asia Carrera's website, which is not safe for work or minors:

Quote:
9/24 - Wahhh!! I hate having to turn down cool mainstream work offers because I'm too fat to go out and play!! There's this extremely popular Japanese anime series called "Dragonball Z", and you can see at this site that there's all this speculation on whether they're ever going to make a live-action movie of the series. Well I can tell you the answer is "yes", because the producers just contacted me about being in it. Don't ask me who they wanted me to play, because the conversation didn't get that far - I just told them "thank you for asking, but I'm 4 months pregnant and getting fatter every day!". And then I went off to sulk, because it would have been really cool to see myself up on the big screen again like when I was in "The Big Lebowski". Sulk. Sulk. Sulk.

Glad to know they're taking the high-end production road on this one

Was the name-brand cans that Tia Carrera wanted too expensive or something?

Why not Wink
She does look a LITTLE like Chi Chi, and with the right make up... who knows.

I think she's confusing the live action DBZ with the live action Sailor and the Seven Balls.

It's still on. Look at the news in the Dragonball Z section in the encyclopedia. Also, they have an article on it in the latest issue of AI.

Or maybe she'll be Lunch Wink

Ironically, she's actually had to do some simple fighting in some samurai-themed porn. She's also done some voice acting in some Nu Tech releases and is known to be something of a computer geek, including playing Unreal Tournament.

I just thought it was amusing they asked her at all. I guess they thought they might score some cool points from the mundane teen crowd by having a retired porn star.

I am reminded of a scene from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns:

Quote:
Porn star Hot Gates today signed a twelve million dollar contract with Landmark Films to star in a screen version of Snow White. "I'm doing it for the kids," says Gates...

Except Snow White was way better than Dragonball could ever hope to be, but oh well.

Heh. Kinda like how the Seiyuu for Sugar from A Little Snow Fairy Sugar was also the seiyuu for Yura from Futari Ecchi. =P

But really. I thought this movie was scraped like... 21341395 different times. =/

Humph - Traci Lords already took the trip from hardcore porn to straightforward acting. Did a good job of it, too.

See her in Cry Baby with Johnny Depp, Ricki Lake, Iggy Pop and numerous other talented people - that's a truly fun film.
